- EnglishThe National Equality Councils are bodies responsible for ensuring the full observance and exercise of the rights enshrined in the Constitution and in international human rights instruments. The Councils shall exercise their attributions for the drafting, cross-cutting application, observance, follow-up and evaluation of public policies involving the issues of gender, ethnic groups, generations, interculturalism, and disabilities and human mobility, in accordance with the law. To achieve their objectives, they shall coordinate with leading and executive entities and with specialized organizations for the protection of rights at all levels of government. (Art. 156)
- SpanishLos consejos nacionales para la igualdad son órganos responsables de asegurar la plena vigencia y el ejercicio de los derechos consagrados en la Constitución y en los instrumentos internacionales de derechos humanos. - English1. The legal system of East Timor shall adopt the general or customary principles of international law.
2. Rules provided for in international conventions, treaties and agreements shall apply in the internal legal system of East Timor following their approval, ratification or accession by the respective competent organs and after publication in the official gazette.

(2) The Slovak Republic may, by an international agreement ratified and published in a manner specified by constitutional law, or on the basis of such an agreement, delegate the implementation of a part of its rights to the European Community and the European Union. Legally binding acts of the European Community and the European Union have priority over the laws of the Slovak Republic. The delegation of legally binding acts requiring implementation is effected by a law or a directive of the Government according to art. 119, paragr. 2.

(4) For the validity of international agreements on human rights and fundamental liberties, of international political agreements, of international agreements of a military nature, of international agreements resulting in the membership of the Slovak Republic in international organisations, international business agreements of a general nature, of international agreements requiring a law to be implemented and of international agreements directly determining the rights or obligations of physical or legal persons, ratification must be subject to the agreement of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
(5) International agreements on human rights and fundamental liberties, international agreements which do not require a law for their implementation and international agreements which directly determine the rights or obligations of physical or legal persons and which have been ratified and published by means of an established law, take precedence over laws. (2) Slovenská republika môţe medzinárodnou zmluvou, ktorá bola ratifikovaná a vyhlásená spôsobom ustanoveným zákonom, alebo na základe takej zmluvy preniesť výkon časti svojich práv na Európske spoločenstvá a Európsku úniu. Právne záväzné akty Európskych spoločenstiev a Európskej únie majú prednosť pred zákonmi Slovenskej republiky. (4) Na platnosť medzinárodných zmlúv o ľudských právach a základných slobodách, medzinárodných politických zmlúv, medzinárodných zmlúv vojenskej povahy, medzinárodných zmlúv, z ktorých vzniká Slovenskej republike členstvo v medzinárodných organizáciách, medzinárodných hospodárskych zmlúv všeobecnej povahy, medzinárodných zmlúv, na ktorých vykonanie je potrebný zákon, a medzinárodných zmlúv, ktoré priamo zakladajú práva alebo povinnosti fyzických osôb alebo právnických osôb, sa vyţaduje pred ratifikáciou súhlas Národnej rady Slovenskej republiky.
(5) Medzinárodné zmluvy o ľudských právach a základných slobodách, medzinárodné zmluvy, na ktorých vykonanie nie je potrebný zákon, a medzinárodné zmluvy, ktoré priamo zakladajú práva alebo povinnosti fyzických osôb alebo právnických osôb a ktoré boli ratifikované a vyhlásené spôsobom ustanoveným zákonom, majú prednosť pred zákonmi.
