A person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if –
(a) he is a citizen of Nigeria by birth;
(b) he has attained the age of thirty-five years;
(c) he is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party; and
(d) he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent. (Sec. 131)

- English(1) No person shall be eligible for election as President unless he—
(a) is a citizen of India,
(b) has completed the age of thirty-five years, and
(c) is qualified for election as a member of the House of the People.
(2) A person shall not be eligible for election as President if he holds any office of profit under the Government of India or the Government of any State or under any local or other authority subject to the control of any of the said Governments. (क) भारत का नागरिक है,

(2) कोई व्यक्ति, जो भारत सरकार के या किसी राज्य की सरकार के अधीन अथवा उक्त सरकारों में से किसी के नियंत्रण में किसी स्थानीय या अन्य प्राधिकारी के अधीन कोई लाभ का पद धारण करता है, राष्ट्रपति निर्वाचित होने का पात्र नहीं होगा। (अनुच्छेद 58)

Every person who is qualified to be an elector shall be qualified to be elected to the office of President unless he is subject to any of the following disqualifications–
(a) if he has not attained the age of thirty years;
(b) if he is not qualified to be elected as a Member of Parliament under sub-paragraph (d), (e), (f) or (g) of paragraph (1) of Article 91; and
(c) if he has been twice elected to the office of President by the People.
