- EnglishThe organization of parties, groups and political movements is free and subject to the principles established in this Constitution. Their conformation and functioning should support themselves in respect for internal democracy and transparency, in accordance with the law. Its essential purposes are:
1. To guarantee the participation of male and female citizens in the political processes that contribute to the strengthening of democracy.
2. To contribute in equality of conditions, to the formation and manifestation of the citizen will, respecting political pluralism through the proposal of candidate lists to offices of popular election.
3. To serve the national interest, the collective well-being and the complete development of Dominican society. (Art. 216) - SpanishLa organización de partidos, agrupaciones y movimientos políticos es libre, con sujeción a los principios establecidos en esta Constitución. Su conformación y funcionamiento deben sustentarse en el respeto a la democracia interna y a la transparencia, de conformidad con la ley. Sus fines esenciales son:
1) Garantizar la participación de ciudadanos y ciudadanas en los procesos políticos que contribuyan al fortalecimiento de la democracia;
2) Contribuir, en igualdad de condiciones, a la formación y manifestación de la voluntad ciudadana, respetando el pluralismo político mediante la propuesta de candidaturas a los cargos de elección popular;
3) Servir al interés nacional, al bienestar colectivo y al desarrollo integral de la sociedad dominicana. (Art. 216)

- EnglishThe Superior Electoral Court is the appropriate organ to judge and decide with definitive character on the contentious electoral matters and to ordain over the disagreements that arise internally from the parties, groups, and political movements or between them. It shall regulate, in accordance with the law, the proceedings of its responsibility and all that is related to its administrative and financial organization and functioning. (Art. 214)
- SpanishEl Tribunal Superior Electoral es el órgano competente para juzgar y decidir con carácter definitivo sobre los asuntos contencioso electorales y estatuir sobre los diferendos que surjan a lo interno de los partidos, agrupaciones y movimientos políticos o entre éstos.
