The political parties and groups form themselves and exercise their activities freely under the condition of respecting the laws of the Republic, the principles of national sovereignty and of democracy. They are equal in rights and subject to the same obligations.
The political parties and groups concur in [concourrent/contribute to] the expression of suffrage.
Political parties and groups created on regional, confessional, tribal, ethnic or racial bases, are prohibited.
Political parties and groups legally constituted benefit from public financing, within the conditions specified by the law. (Art. 25) - French
Les partis et groupements politiques se forment et exercent leurs activités librement sous la condition de respecter les lois de la République, les principes de la souveraineté nationale et de la démocratie. Ils sont égaux en droit et soumis aux mêmes obligations.
Les partis et groupements politiques concourent à l'expression du suffrage.
Sont interdits les partis et groupements politiques créés sur des bases régionales, confessionnelles, tribales, ethniques ou raciales.

Political Parties
- EnglishPolitical parties and groups shall contribute to the exercise of suffrage. They shall be formed and carry on their activities freely. They shall respect the principles of national sovereignty and democracy.
They shall contribute to the implementation of the principle set out in the second paragraph of article 1 as provided for by statute.
Statutes shall guarantee the expression of diverse opinions and the equitable participation of political parties and groups in the democratic life of the Nation. (1958 Constitution, Art. 4) - FrenchLes partis et groupements politiques concourent à l'expression du suffrage. Ils se forment et exercent leur activité librement. Ils doivent respecter les principes de la souveraineté nationale et de la démocratie.
Ils contribuent à la mise en œuvre du principe énoncé au second alinéa de l'article 1er dans les conditions déterminées par la loi.
La loi garantit les expressions pluralistes des opinions et la participation équitable des partis et groupements politiques à la vie démocratique de la Nation. (Constitution 1958, Art. 4)

Any person has the right to freely constitute associations, under reserve of conforming themselves to the law.
This same right is recognized for the creation of political parties. The conditions of their creation are determined by a law on political parties and their financing.
The associations and the political parties that jeopardize the unity of the Nation and the republican principles, and that advocate totalitarianism or segregation of ethnic, tribal or religious character, are prohibited.
The parties and political organizations participate in the expression of the suffrage.

• the respect, the safeguarding and the consolidation of the national unity;
• the protection and the promotion of the fundamental rights of the human person;
• the pursuit of the satisfaction of the general interest of the Congolese people;
• the promotion of a State of law founded on the respect for and the defense of democracy, of the individual and collective freedoms;
• the defense of the integrity of the territory and of the national sovereignty;
• the proscription of intolerance, of ethnicism, of sectarianism and of the recourse to violence in all its forms;
• the respect of the republican, secular and indivisible character of the State. (Art. 61) - FrenchLes partis politiques doivent, pour être reconnus, se conformer aux principes suivants:
