The political parties and the groupings of political parties legally recognized participate [concourent] in the expression of suffrage. They form themselves and exercise their activity freely, within the framework established by the law, according to the principles of multipartism.
They contribute to the equal access of women, of men, of young [persons] and of the handicapped to the electoral mandates, within the conditions established by the law.
They must respect the Constitution, the law and regulations of the Republic. (Art. 6) - French
Les partis politiques et les groupements de partis politiques légalement reconnus concourent à l'expression du suffrage. Ils se forment et exercent leur activité librement, dans le cadre fixé par la loi, selon les principes du multipartisme.
Ils contribuent à l'égal accès des femmes, des hommes, des jeunes et des handicapés aux mandats électoraux, dans les conditions fixées par la loi.

• the respect, the safeguarding and the consolidation of the national unity;
• the protection and the promotion of the fundamental rights of the human person;
• the pursuit of the satisfaction of the general interest of the Congolese people;
• the promotion of a State of law founded on the respect for and the defense of democracy, of the individual and collective freedoms;
• the defense of the integrity of the territory and of the national sovereignty;
• the proscription of intolerance, of ethnicism, of sectarianism and of the recourse to violence in all its forms;

They must be opened to all Burundians and their national character must also be reflected at the level of their leadership [direction]. The political parties and coalitions of political parties participate [concourrent] in the expression of suffrage within the conditions established by the Constitution and by the law. They work for the forming [formation] of the citizens, for the promotion of their participation in national life and the management of public affairs.

The political parties and coalitions of political parties, likewise the independent candidates, are held to respect the Constitution as well as the principles of national sovereignty and of democracy. They are forbidden to identify themselves to one race, to one ethnicity, to one sex, to one religion, to one sect, to one language or to one part of the territory.
The political parties are equally held to strictly respect the rules of good associative governance under penalty of sanctions susceptible to lead to suspension and to dissolution.
The Constitution guarantees equal rights to the political parties including those that oppose the policy of the Government in place.

Les partis politiques et coalitions de partis politiques concourent à l’expression du suffrage dans les conditions fixées par la Constitution et par la loi. Ils œuvrent à la formation des citoyens, à la promotion de leur participation à la vie nationale et à la gestion des affaires publiques.

Les partis politiques et coalitions de partis politiques, de même que les candidats indépendants, sont tenus de respecter la Constitution ainsi que les principes de la souveraineté nationale et de la démocratie. Il leur est interdit de s’identifier à une race, à une ethnie, à un sexe, à une religion, à une secte, à une langue ou à une partie du territoire.
Les partis politiques sont egalement tenus de respecter strictement les regles de bonne gouvernance associative sous peine de sanctions susceptibles de conduire d la suspension et d la dissolution.
La Constitution garantit des droits égaux aux partis politiques, y compris ceux qui s’opposent à la politique du Gouvernement en place.
Les règles de constitution, de suspension et de dissolution des partis politiques, les conditions dans lesquelles ceux-ci exercent leurs activités et bénéficient d’un financement public sont déterminées par la loi. (Art. 4)

The political parties participate [concourent] in the exercise of suffrage. They are formed and exercise their activities freely within the conditions determined by the Charter of Political Parties [Charte des Partis politiques]. They must respect the principles of national sovereignty, of democracy, of the territorial integrity and of the secularity of the State.
The State participates in the financing of the political parties within the conditions established by the law. The amount allocated for this purpose may not decrease from one budgetary fiscal year to another. However, in the case of a decrease of the proprietary resources of the general budget of the State, the allocation may be reduced in the same proportions. (Art. 5) - French
Les Partis politiques concourent à l'expression du suffrage. Ils se forment et exercent librement leurs activités dans les conditions déterminées par la Charte des partis politiques. Ils doivent respecter les principes de la souveraineté nationale, de la démocratie, de l'intégrité territoriale et la laïcité de l'Etat.
L’Etat concourt au financement des partis politiques aux conditions fixées par la loi. Le montant alloué à cette fin ne peut diminuer d'un exercice budgétaire à un autre.
