- English1. The political parties are political organizations composed of persons who associate freely in order to participate in the political orientation of the State.
2. The political parties of Equatorial Guinea may not have identical denomination to those that pre-existed 12th October 1968, and they must have national character and scope, by which [they] may not be based on tribe, ethnicity, region, district, municipality, province, sex, religion, social condition, or profession or office. A law shall regulate their creation and functioning. (Art. 9) - Spanish1. The political parties, the trade unions and the associations commit in their statutes and their activities to respect the provisions of the Constitution and of the law, as well as the financial transparency and the rejection of violence. (Art. 40) - Arabic
حرّية تكوين الأحزاب والنّقابات والجمعيّات مضمونة.
تلتزم الأحزاب والنّقابات والجمعيّات في أنظمتها الأساسيّة وفي أنشطتها بأحكام الدّستور والقانون وبالشّفافيّة الماليّة ونبذ العنف. (الفصل 40) - French
La liberté de constituer des partis politiques, des syndicats et des associations est garantie.
Les partis politiques, les syndicats et les associations s’engagent dans leurs statuts et leurs activités à respecter les dispositions de la Constitution et de la loi, ainsi que la transparence financière et le rejet de la violence. (Art. 40)
Political Parties
- EnglishThe political parties or groups concur in the expression of suffrage, [and] to the animation of the political, economic and social life.
They freely form and exercise their activities. They are required to promote and to respect the principles of democracy, of unity and of national sovereignty, of the Rights of Man, of the secularity and the republican form of the State, in accordance with the laws and regulations in force.
It is prohibited to them to identify themselves with a race, an ethnicity, a gender, a religion, a sect, a language, a region or an armed group.
The political parties must respect the principles of representation of gender and of regions specified by the law.
A law determines the conditions of their formation, of their functioning, of their funding [financement] of their control and of their dissolution. (Art. 31) - FrenchLes partis et groupements politiques concourent à l’expression du suffrage, à l’animation de la vie politique, économique et sociale.

Les partis politiques doivent respecter les principes de représentation du genre et des régions prévues par la loi.

They must respect the principles of national sovereignty, of democracy, of the territorial integrity, of the national unity and of the secularity of the State. The right to create political parties is recognized and guaranteed.
The political parties may not be founded on a religious, linguistic, racial, gender, corporatist or regional basis.
This right may never be invoked to infringe the fundamental freedoms, the [fundamental] values and the fundamental components of the national identity, of the national unity, the security and the integrity of the national territory, the independence of the country and the sovereignty of the people as well as the democratic and republican character of the State.
The political parties may not resort to partisan propaganda concerning the elements mentioned in the previous paragraph.
The State assures an equitable treatment vis-à-vis all the political parties.
All obedience of political parties, under whatever form it may be, to foreign interests or parties, is proscribed.
No political party may resort to violence or to constraint, whatever the nature or the forms of these.
The administration must abstain from any practice of a nature to contravene this right.
The political parties may only be dissolved by virtue of a decision of justice.
An organic law determines the modalities of creation of the political parties and must not include provisions of a nature to question the freedom of their creation. (Art. 57) - Arabic
حقّ إنشاء الأحزاب السّياسيّة معترَف به ومضمون.
لا يجوز تأسيس الأحزاب السّياسيّة على أساس دينيّ أو لغويّ أو عرقيّ أو جنسيّ أو مهنيّ أو جهويّ.
لا يمكن التّذرّع بهذا الحقّ لضرب الحرّيّات الأساسيّة، والقيم والمكوّنات الأساسيّة للهوّيّة الوطنيّة، والوحدة الوطنيّة، وأمن التّراب الوطنيّ وسلامته، واستقلال البلاد، وسيادة الشّعب، وكذا الطّابع الدّيمقراطيّ والجمهوريّ للدّولة.
لا يجوز للأحزاب السّياسيّة اللّجوء إلى الدّعاية الحزبيّة الّتي تقوم على العناصر المبيّنة في الفقرة السّابقة.
تضمن الدولة معاملة منصفة تجاه كل الأحزاب السياسية.
يُحظَر على الأحزاب السّياسيّة كلّ شكل من أشكال التّبعيّة للمصالح أو الجهات الأجنبيّة.
لا يجوز أن يلجأ أيّ حزب سياسيّ إلى استعمال العنف أو الإكراه مهما كانت طبيعتهما أوشكلهما.
يجب على الإدارة أن تمتنع عن كل ممارسة تحول بطبيعتها دون ممارسة هذا الحق.
لا تحل الأحزاب السياسية إلاّ بمقتضى قرار قضائي.

Le droit de créer des partis politiques est reconnu et garanti.
Les partis politiques ne peuvent être fondés sur une base religieuse, linguistique, raciale, de sexe, corporatiste ou régionale.
Ce droit ne peut toutefois être invoqué pour attenter aux libertés fondamentales, aux valeurs et aux composantes fondamentales de l'identité nationale, à l'unité nationale, à la sécurité et à l'intégrité du territoire national, à l'indépendance du pays et à la souveraineté du peuple ainsi qu'au caractère démocratique et républicain de l’Etat.
Les partis politiques ne peuvent recourir à la propagande partisane portant sur les éléments mentionnés à l'alinéa précédent.
L’Etat assure un traitement équitable à l’égard de tous les partis politiques.
Toute obédience des partis politiques, sous quelque forme que ce soit, à des intérêts ou parties étrangers, est proscrite.
Aucun parti politique ne peut recourir à la violence ou à la contrainte, quelles que soient la nature ou les formes de celles-ci.
L’administration doit s’abstenir de toute pratique de nature à entraver ce droit.
Les partis politiques ne peuvent être dissous qu’en vertu d’une décision de justice.
Une loi organique détermine les modalités de création des partis politiques et ne doit pas comporter de dispositions de nature à remettre en cause la liberté de leur création. (Art. 57)

• the respect, the safeguarding and the consolidation of the national unity;
• the protection and the promotion of the fundamental rights of the human person;
• the pursuit of the satisfaction of the general interest of the Congolese people;
• the promotion of a State of law founded on the respect for and the defense of democracy, of the individual and collective freedoms;
• the defense of the integrity of the territory and of the national sovereignty;
• the proscription of intolerance, of ethnicism, of sectarianism and of the recourse to violence in all its forms;

(1) Political organisations must always reflect the unity of Rwandans as well as equality and complementarity of women and men in the recruitment of members, in establishing their leadership organs, and in their functioning and activities.
(2) Political organisations must abide by the Constitution and other laws. They must conform to democratic principles and not compromise national unity, territorial integrity and national security. (Art. 56) - Kinyarwanda

(1) Les formations politiques doivent toujours refléter l’unité nationale ainsi que l’égalité et la complémentarité entre les femmes et les hommes dans le recrutement des membres, dans la mise en place des organes dirigeants, et dans leur fonctionnement et leurs activités.
(2) Les formations politiques doivent respecter la Constitution et les autres lois. Elles doivent se conformer aux principes démocratiques et éviter de porter atteinte à l’unité nationale, à l’intégrité du territoire et à la sécurité nationale. (Art. 56)

- FrenchLes partis politiques, dans leur organisation et leur fonctionnement, doivent répondre aux principes démocratiques. Ils doivent être ouverts à tous les Burundais et leur caractère national doit également être reflété au niveau de leur direction. Ils ne peuvent prôner la violence, l’exclusion et la haine sous toutes leurs formes, notamment celles basées sur l’appartenance ethnique, régionale, religieuse ou de genre. (Art. 78)
