The extent and nature of the rights previously mentioned will be determined by the law in accordance with the conditions and peculiarities of the work. Those who render services of domestic character in industrial and commercial businesses, [in] social entities and in others [that are] similar, will be considered manual workers and will have the rights recognized to these. - EnglishMotherhood of the working woman is protected. The pregnant woman may not be separated from her public or private employment for this reason. For a minimum of six weeks prior to confinement and eight weeks thereafter, she is entitled to rest with the same remuneration that she was receiving, and her job shall be kept for her, as well as all the rights inherent to her contract. Upon returning to work, the mother may not be dismissed for one year, except in special cases prescribed by law, which shall in addition, regulate the special working conditions of the pregnant woman. Work, in its diverse modalities, is [an] object of priority attention of the State, which especially protects the mother, the minor and the disabled who work.

El trabajo, en sus diversas modalidades, es objeto de atención prioritaria del Estado, el cual protege especialmente a la madre, al menor de edad y al impedido que trabajan.
El Estado promueve condiciones para el progreso social y económico, en especial mediante políticas de fomento del empleo productivo y de educación para el trabajo.
Ninguna relación laboral puede limitar el ejercicio de los derechos constitucionales, ni desconocer o rebajar la dignidad del trabajador.

- EnglishWorking hours shall not exceed eight hours per day or 44 hours per week. Where permitted by law, night work shall not exceed seven hours per day or 35 hours per week. No employer shall have the right to require employees to work overtime. An effort shall be made to reduce working hours progressively in the interest of society and in such sphere as may be determined, and appropriate provisions shall be adopted to make better use of free time for the benefit of the physical, spiritual and cultural development of workers.
Workers are entitled to weekly time off and paid vacations on the same terms as for days actually worked. (Art. 90) - SpanishLa jornada de trabajo diurna no excederá de ocho horas diarias ni de cuarenta y cuatro horas semanales. En los casos en que la ley lo permita, la jornada de trabajo nocturna no excederá de siete horas diarias ni de treinta y cinco semanales. Ningún patrono podrá obligar a los trabajadores o trabajadoras a laborar horas extraordinarias. Se propenderá a la progresiva disminución de la jornada de trabajo dentro del interés social y del ámbito que se determine y se dispondrá lo conveniente para la mejor utilización del tiempo libre en beneficio del desarrollo físico, espiritual y cultural de los trabajadores y trabajadoras.
Los trabajadores y trabajadoras tienen derecho al descanso semanal y vacaciones remunerados en las mismas condiciones que las jornadas efectivamente laboradas. (Art. 90)

- English(1) The public authorities shall promote favourable conditions for social and economic progress and for a more equitable distribution of regional and personal income within the framework of a policy of economic stability. They shall in particular carry out a policy aimed at full employment.
