- EnglishThe maximum duration of the ordinary working day will not exceed eight daily hours and 48 weekly hours, of daytime, except those legally established for special motives. The law will establish more favorable working days for the unsanitary, dangerous, painful, [and] night time tasks, or those whose development is in continuous rotating shifts.
The annual leaves of absence and vacations will be remunerated in accordance with the law. (Art. 91) - SpanishLa duración máxima de la jornada ordinaria de trabajo no excederá de ocho horas diarias y cuarenta y ocho horas semanales, diurnas, salvo las legalmente establecidas por motivos especiales. The State shall strive towards a labor system that works in harmony with the needs for human care-giving, and that facilitates suitable services, infrastructure and work schedules; it shall, in particular, provide services for child care, care for persons with disabilities, and other services as needed for workers to be able to perform their labor activities; it shall furthermore foster the joint responsibility and reciprocity of men and women in domestic work and family obligations.
Social service protection shall be progressively extended to persons who are responsible for unpaid family work at home, in accordance with the general conditions of the system and the law. - EnglishAll persons have the right and duty to work. The State guarantees the adoption of the necessary measures so that every person shall be able to obtain productive work providing him or her with a dignified and decorous living and guarantee him or her the full exercise of this right. It is an objective of the State to promote employment. Measures tending to guarantee the exercise of the labor rights of self employed persons shall be adopted by law. Freedom to work shall be subject only to such restrictions as may be established by law.
Every employer shall guarantee employees adequate safety, hygienic and environmental conditions on the job. The State shall adopt measures and create institutions such as to make it possible to control and promote these conditions. (Art. 87) - SpanishToda persona tiene derecho al trabajo y el deber de trabajar. El Estado garantizará la adopción de las medidas necesarias a los fines de que toda persona pueda obtener ocupación productiva, que le proporcione una existencia digna y decorosa y le garantice el pleno ejercicio de este derecho. Es fin del Estado fomentar el empleo. La ley adoptará medidas tendentes a garantizar el ejercicio de los derechos laborales de los trabajadores y trabajadoras no dependientes. La libertad de trabajo no será sometida a otras restricciones que las que la ley establezca.
Todo patrono o patrona garantizará a sus trabajadores y trabajadoras condiciones de seguridad, higiene y ambiente de trabajo adecuados. El Estado adoptará medidas y creará instituciones que permitan el control y la promoción de estas condiciones. (Art. 87)
