- EnglishParents are under obligation to feed, assist, and educate their children during their minority, and beyond in those cases established by law.
The state shall provide special protection for minors whose parents or guardians are economically unable to do so, to provide for their care and education.

Family relations rest on the respect for, solidarity with and [the] absolute equality of rights and responsibilities between the man and the woman.
Parents must attend to the maintaining of the home and the integral development of their children through common effort, with equal rights and responsibilities. The community and the State especially protect the child, the adolescent, the mother and the older person in [a] situation of abandonment. They also protect the family and promote matrimony. These latter are recognized as natural and fundamental institutions of society.

- EnglishEvery person has the right to adequate, safe and comfortable, hygienic housing, with appropriate essential basic services, including a habitat such as to humanize family, neighborhood and community relations. The progressive meeting of this requirement is the shared responsibility of citizens and the State in all areas.
The State shall give priority to families, and shall guarantee them, especially those with meager resources, the possibility of access to social policies and credit for the construction, purchase or enlargement of dwellings.
