The Political Constitution guarantees political pluralism. The parties, movements or other forms of organization of which the objectives, acts or conduct do not respect the basic principles of the democratic and constitutional regime, advocate [procuren] the establishment of a totalitarian system, as well as those which use violence, or advocate or incite it as a method of political action, are unconstitutional. It will correspond to the Constitutional Tribunal to declare such unconstitutionality.

- EnglishAll people have the right to have their physical, psychic, moral integrity and the right to live without violence respected. They shall have the protection of the state in cases of threat, risk, or violation of the same. Consequently:
1. No one may be submitted to punishments, tortures, or degrading proceedings that imply the loss or decrease of his health or of his physical or psychic integrity;
2. Familial and gender based violence in any of its forms is condemned. The State shall guarantee through the law the adoption of necessary methods to prevent, sanction, and eradicate violence against women;
3. No one may be submitted, without prior consent to experiments or proceedings that do not conform to internationally recognized scientific and bioethical norms, nor to examinations of medical proceedings, except when his life is in danger. (Art. 42) - SpanishToda persona tiene derecho a que se respete su integridad física, psíquica, moral y a vivir sin violencia. Tendrá la protección del Estado en casos de amenaza, riesgo o violación de las mismas. En consecuencia:
1) Ninguna persona puede ser sometida a penas, torturas o procedimientos vejatorios que impliquen la pérdida o disminución de su salud, o de su integridad física o psíquica;
2) Se condena la violencia intrafamiliar y de género en cualquiera de sus formas. El Estado garantizará mediante ley la adopción de medidas necesarias para prevenir, sancionar y erradicar la violencia contra la mujer;
3) Nadie puede ser sometido, sin consentimiento previo, a experimentos y procedimientos que no se ajusten a las normas científicas y bioéticas internacionalmente reconocidas. Tampoco a exámenes o procedimientos médicos, excepto cuando se encuentre en peligro su vida. (Art. 42)

- EnglishThe penitentiary system must tend to the social rehabilitation and reeducation of the prisoners [reclusos] and to comply[,] in their treatment, with [observance to] the following minimum norms:
a. They must be treated as human beings; they must not be discriminated against for any reason whatsoever, or be infringed with cruel treatment, physical, moral, [or] psychic tortures, duress or harassments, labor incompatible with their physical state, actions that denigrate their dignity, or make them victims of exactions, or be submitted to scientific experiment.

- EnglishEvery child must be protected against every form of abandonment, cruelty and exploitation. No child shall be the object of any type of bondage.
No child shall work before reaching an adequate minimum age, nor shall he be permitted to dedicate himself to any occupation or employment that may be prejudicial to his health, education, or serve as an impediment to his physical, mental, or moral development.
The use of minors by their parents or other persons for the purpose of begging is prohibited.
The law shall establish the applicable penalties for those who violate this provision. (Art. 124) - SpanishTodo niño debe ser protegido contra toda forma de abandono, crueldad y explotación. No será objeto de ningún tipo de trata.
No deberá trabajar antes de una edad mínima adecuada, ni se le permitirá que se dedique a ocupación o empleo alguno que pueda perjudicar su salud, educación, o impedir su desarrollo físico, mental o moral.
Se prohíbe la utilización de los menores por sus padres y otras personas, para actos de mendicidad.
La ley señalará las penas aplicables a quienes incurran en la violación de este precepto. (Art. 124)
