Vice-President
- EnglishThe Vice-President of the Republic will exercise the functions of [the] President of the Republic in the cases and in the form established by the Constitution.
He [or she] will be elected on the same ballot as the President of the Republic, in an identical form and for the same term.
The Vice-President must meet the same qualifications as the President of the Republic, [he or she] will enjoy similar immunities, and will hold in the hierarchical order of the State, the level immediately below that functionary. Vice-President

1. To be Dominican by birth or origin
2. To have reached thirty years of age
3. To be in full exercise of civil and political rights
4. To not be in active military or police service for at least the three years prior to the presidential elections (Art. 123) - SpanishPara ser Presidente de la República se requiere:

2) Haber cumplido treinta años de edad;

Vice-President
- EnglishTo be a candidate for President or Vice President of the State, one must satisfy the general conditions to be a public servant, be thirty years of age on the day of the election, and have resided permanently in the country for at least five years immediately prior to the election. (Art. 167)
- SpanishPara acceder a la candidatura a la Presidencia o a la Vicepresidencia del Estado se requiere cumplir con las condiciones generales de acceso al servicio público, contar con treinta años de edad cumplidos al día de la elección, y haber residido de forma permanente en el país al menos cinco años inmediatamente anteriores a la elección. Vice-President
- EnglishWhoever holds the office of Vice-President of the Republic shall meet the same requirements, shall be subject to the same disqualifications and prohibitions as those set for the President of the Republic, and shall perform his/her duties for the same term of office.
The Vice-President of the Republic, when not replacing the President of the Republic, shall perform the duties that the latter assigns him/her. (Art. 149) - SpanishQuien ejerza la Vicepresidencia de la República cumplirá los mismos requisitos, estará sujeto a las mismas inhabilidades y prohibiciones establecidas para la Presidenta o Presidente de la República, y desempeñará sus funciones por igual período.
