Gambia
- English(1) Any person who has been ordinarily resident in The Gambia for a continuous period of not less than fifteen years and who satisfies the conditions set out in subsection (2) may apply, in such manner as may be prescribed by or under an Act of the National Assembly, to be naturalised as a citizen of The Gambia.
(2) The conditions referred to in subsection (1) are that the applicant—
(a) is of full age and capacity;
(b) is of good character;
(c) has clearly shown that, if naturalised, he or she intends to continue permanently to reside in The Gambia;
(d) is capable of supporting himself or herself and his or her dependants.
(3) The Minister shall give reasons for any refusal of an application made under this section.
(4) No person shall be naturalized until he or she has renounced any other citizenship he or she may have and taken an oath of allegiance to The Gambia. (Sec. 12)

Ghana
- English(1) Every person who, on the coming into force of this Constitution, is a citizen of Ghana by law shall continue to be a citizen of Ghana.
(2) Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, a person born in or outside Ghana after the coming into force of this Constitution, shall become a citizen of Ghana at the date of his birth if either of his parents or grandparents is or was a citizen of Ghana.
(3) A child of not more than seven years of age found in Ghana whose parents are not known shall be presumed to be a citizen of Ghana by birth.
(4) A child of not more than sixteen years of age neither of whose parents is a citizen of Ghana who is adopted by a citizen of Ghana shall, by virtue of the adoption, be a citizen of Ghana. (Art. 6)

Ecuador
- EnglishAll female and male Ecuadorians are citizens and shall enjoy the rights set forth in the Constitution.
Ecuadorian nationality is a political and legal bond between individuals and the State, without detriment to their belonging to any of the other indigenous nations that coexist in plurinational Ecuador.
Ecuadorian nationality is obtained by birth or naturalization and shall not be forfeited because of marriage or its dissolution or by acquiring another nationality. (Art. 6) - SpanishTodas las ecuatorianas y los ecuatorianos son ciudadanos y gozarán de los derechos establecidos en la Constitución.

2. A person who marries a citizen of Lesotho who, but for his death would have continued to be a citizen of Lesotho under section 37 of the constitution is entitled to be registered as a citizen of Lesotho after five years of continuous and lawful stay in Lesotho. (Sec. 40)

Guatemala
- EnglishThe nationals by birth of the republics that constituted the Federation of Central America, if they acquire domicile in Guatemala and manifest before the competent authority their wish to become Guatemalans, will also be considered Guatemalans of origin. In such case they can retain their nationality of origin, without prejudice to what is established in [the] Central American treaties or agreements. (Art. 145)

Switzerland
- English1 The Confederation shall regulate the acquisition and deprivation of citizenship by birth, marriage or adoption. It shall also regulate the deprivation of Swiss citizenship on other grounds, together with the reinstatement of citizenship.
2 It shall legislate on the minimum requirements for the naturalisation of foreign nationals by the Cantons and grant naturalisation permits.
3 It shall enact simplified regulations on the naturalisation of:
a. third generation immigrants;
b. stateless children. (Art. 38) - French1 La Confédération règle l’acquisition et la perte de la nationalité et des droits de cité par filiation, par mariage ou par adoption. Elle règle également la perte de la nationalité suisse pour d’autres motifs ainsi que la réintégration dans cette dernière.
2 Elle édicte des dispositions minimales sur la naturalisation des étrangers par les cantons et octroie l’autorisation de naturalisation.
3 Elle facilite la naturalisation:
a. des étrangers de la troisième génération;

b. staatenlosen Kindern. (Art. 38) - Italian1 La Confederazione disciplina l’acquisizione e la perdita della cittadinanza per origine, matrimonio e adozione. Disciplina inoltre la perdita della cittadinanza svizzera per altri motivi e la reintegrazione nella medesima.
2 La Confederazione emana prescrizioni minime sulla naturalizzazione degli stranieri da parte dei Cantoni e rilascia il relativo permesso.
3 Essa agevola la naturalizzazione:
a. degli stranieri della terza generazione;
b. dei fanciulli apolidi. (Art. 38)
