1. A person, both of whose parents are citizens of Bhutan, shall be a natural born citizen of Bhutan.
2. A person, domiciled in Bhutan on or before the Thirty-First of December Nineteen Hundred and Fifty Eight and whose name is registered in the official record of the Government of Bhutan shall be a citizen of Bhutan by registration.
3. A person who applies for citizenship by naturalization shall:
a. Have lawfully resided in Bhutan for at least fifteen years;
b. Not have any record of imprisonment for criminal offences within the country or outside;
c. Be able to speak and write Dzongkha;
d. Have a good knowledge of the culture, customs, traditions and history of Bhutan;
e. Have no record of having spoken or acted against the Tsawa-sum;
f. Renounce the citizenship, if any, of a foreign State on being conferred Bhutanese citizenship; and
g. Take a solemn Oath of Allegiance to the Constitution as may be prescribed.
4. The grant of citizenship by naturalization shall take effect by a Royal Kasho of the Druk Gyalpo.
5. If any citizen of Bhutan acquires the citizenship of a foreign State, his or her citizenship of Bhutan shall be terminated.
6. Subject to the provisions of this Article and the Citizenship Acts, Parliament shall, by law, regulate all other matters relating to citizenship. (Art. 6) - Dzongkha

- EnglishAny person, other than a person of I-Kiribati descent, who—
a. has attained the age of eighteen years before Independence Day;
b. becomes a citizen of Kiribati by virtue of section 20 or 21 of this Constitution; and
c. is on Independence Day a national of some other country, shall cease to be a citizen of Kiribati at the expiry of a period of two years after Independence Day or such longer period as may be prescribed, unless before the expiry of that period he has renounced or lost his nationality of that other country or, if the law of that other country makes no provision for or does not permit him to renounce his nationality of that other country, made such a declaration as may be prescribed. (a) the acquisition of citizenship of Dominica by persons who are not eligible or who are no longer eligible to become citizens of Dominica under the provisions of this Chapter2;
(b) depriving of his citizenship of Dominica any person who is a citizen of Dominica otherwise than by virtue of section 97, 98 or 99 of this Constitution;

- English(1) The Federal Government may by order deprive of his citizenship any person who is a citizen by registration under Article 16A or 17 or a citizen by naturalization if satisfied—
(a) that he has shown himself by act or speech to be disloyal or disaffected towards the Federation;
(b) that he has, during any war in which the Federation is or was engaged, unlawfully traded or communicated with an enemy or been engaged in or associated with any business which to his knowledge was carried on in such manner as to assist an enemy in that war; or
(c) that he has, within the period of five years beginning with the date of the registration or the grant of the certificate, been sentenced in any country to imprisonment for a term of not less than twelve months or to a fine of not less than five thousand ringgit or the equivalent in the currency of that country, and has not received a free pardon in respect of the offence for which he was so sentenced.
… (Art. 25) - Malay(1) Kerajaan Persekutuan boleh melalui perintah melucutkan kewarganegaraan mana-mana orang yang menjadi warganegara melalui pendaftaran di bawah Perkara 16A atau 17 atau yang menjadi warganegara melalui penaturalisasian jika berpuas hati—

(c) bahawa orang itu, dalam tempoh lima tahun mulai dari tarikh pendaftaran atau dari tarikh perakuan diberikan, telah dihukum dengan pemenjaraan di mana-mana negara selama tempoh tidak kurang daripada dua belas bulan atau denda tidak kurang daripada lima ribu ringgit atau yang senilai dengannya dalam mata wang negara itu, dan telah tidak mendapat pengampunan bebas berkenaan dengan kesalahan yang kerananya dia telah dihukum sedemikian.

(1) Parliament may make provision for the acquisition of Nauruan citizenship by persons who are not otherwise eligible to become Nauruan citizens under the provisions of this Part.
(2) Parliament may make provision for depriving a person of his Nauruan citizenship being a person who has acquired the nationality of another country otherwise than by marriage.
(3) Parliament may make provision for depriving a person of his Nauruan citizenship being a person who is a Nauruan citizen otherwise than by reason of Article 71 or Article 72.
(4) Parliament may make provision for the renunciation by a person of his Nauruan citizenship. (Art. 75)
