Paraguay
- EnglishThe following are of natural Paraguayan nationality:
1. the persons born in the territory of the Republic;
2. the children of a Paraguayan father or mother who, being one or both at the service of the Republic, are born abroad;
3. the children of a Paraguayan father or mother born abroad, when they reside permanently in the Republic, and
4. the children of unknown [ignorados] parents, found in the territory of the Republic.

Gambia
- EnglishA citizen of The Gambia who loses his or her citizenship of The Gambia as a result of the acquisition or possession of the citizenship of some other country shall, on the renunciation of the citizenship of that other country, be entitled to be registered, or if he or she was formerly a citizen by birth or descent, to be officially recognised, as a citizen of The Gambia. (Sec. 14)

- English1. A citizen—
a. may renounce citizenship as prescribed; or
b. shall be deprived of citizenship if that citizenship was acquired by means of fraud, false representation or concealment of a material fact.

Saint Lucia
- EnglishEvery person born in Saint Lucia after the commencement of this, Constitution shall become a citizen at the date of his or her birth:
Provided that a person shall not become a citizen by virtue of this section if at the time of his or her birth—
(a) neither of his or her parents is a citizen of Saint Lucia and his or her father possesses such immunity from suit and legal process as is accorded to the envoy of a foreign sovereign power accredited to Saint Lucia; or
(b) his or her father is a citizen of a country with which Saint Lucia is at war and the birth occurs in a place then under occupation by that country. (Sec. 100)

Poland
- English1. Polish citizenship shall be acquired by birth to parents being Polish citizens. Other methods of acquiring Polish citizenship shall be specified by statute.

- English(1) Romanian citizenship can be acquired, retained or lost as provided by the organic law.

Bahamas
- English1. Notwithstanding anything contained in Article 8 of this Constitution, a person born legitimately outside The Bahamas after 9th July 1973 whose mother is a citizen of The Bahamas shall be entitled, upon making application on his attaining the age of eighteen years and before he attains the age of twenty-one years, in such manner as may be prescribed, to be registered as a citizen of The Bahamas:
Provided that if he is a citizen of some country other than The Bahamas he shall not be entitled to be registered as a citizen of The Bahamas under this Article unless he renounces his citizenship of that other country, takes the oath of allegiance and makes and registers such declaration of his intentions concerning residence as may be prescribed.
2. Where a person cannot renounce his citizenship of some other country under the law of that country, he may instead make such declaration concerning that citizenship as may be prescribed.
3. Any application for registration under this Article shall be subject to such exceptions or qualifications as may be prescribed in the interests of national security or public policy. (Art. 9)

Uruguay
- EnglishNationality is not lost even by naturalization in another country, it being sufficient for the purpose of retaining the rights of citizenship merely to take up residence in the Republic and register in the Civil Register.
Legal citizenship is lost by any other form of subsequent naturalization. (Art. 81) - SpanishLa nacionalidad no se pierde ni aun por naturalizarse en otro país, bastando simplemente, para recuperar el ejercicio de los derechos de ciudadanía, avecinarse en la República e inscribirse en el Registro Cívico.
La ciudadanía legal se pierde por cualquier otra forma de naturalización ulterior. (Art. 81)

- EnglishNotwithstanding anything in article 5, any person who or either of whose parents or any of whose grand-parents was born in India as defined in the Government of India Act, 1935 (as originally enacted), and who is ordinarily residing in any country outside India as so defined shall be deemed to be a citizen of India if he has been registered as a citizen of India by the diplomatic or consular representative of India in the country where he is for the time being residing on an application made by him therefor to such diplomatic or consular representative, whether before or after the commencement of this Constitution, in the form and manner prescribed by the Government of the Dominion of India or the Government of India.
