1) determine the constitutionality of the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan and decisions of Chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, of decrees, decisions and orders of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, of decisions by national and local government bodies, of obligations of the Republic of Uzbekistan under international agreements and of other obligations;
2) determine the conformity of the constitutional laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan on ratification of international treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan before their signing by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
3) make conclusions on the compliance of the Constitution of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the laws of the Republic of Karakalpakstan with the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
4) interpret the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

- English(1) Where any question as to the interpretation of this Constitution arises in any court of law established for Saint Lucia (other than the Court of Appeal, the High Court or a court martial) and the court is of opinion that the question involves a substantial question of law, the court shall refer the question to the High Court.
(2) Where any question is referred to the High Court in pursuance of this section, the High Court shall give its decision upon the question and the court in which the question arose shall dispose of the case in accordance with that decision or, if the decision is the subject of an appeal to the Court of Appeal or Her Majesty in Council, in accordance with the decision of the Court of Appeal or, as the case may be, Her Majesty in Council. If the President applies to the Constitutional Court with a proposal to verify the constitutionality of a law within the specified period, the deadline for signing such a law shall be suspended while the proposal is being examined by the Constitutional Court. The opinion of the Constitutional Court must be adopted no later than ten days from the date of submission of the proposal by the President. If the Constitutional Court confirms the constitutionality of a law, the President shall sign it within five days of the adoption of the opinion by the Constitutional Court. If the Constitutional Court finds a law to be unconstitutional, the President shall return it to the House of Representatives.
If the President does not return a law within two weeks of its submission to the President or, if the Constitutional Court has issued an opinion on the constitutionality of a law, within five days of the adoption of the opinion, the law is considered signed. A law is not considered signed and does not enter into force if it could not be returned to Parliament at the end of the session.

Калі Прэзідэнт на працягу ўказанага тэрміну звернецца ў Канстытуцыйны Суд з прапановай аб праверцы канстытуцыйнасці закона, тэрмін для падпісання такога закона прыпыняецца на час разгляду прапановы Канстытуцыйным Судом. Заключэнне Канстытуцыйнага Суда павінна быць прынята не пазней за дзесяць дзён з дня ўнясення Прэзідэнтам адпаведнай прапановы. Калі Канстытуцыйны Суд пацвердзіць канстытуцыйнасць закона, Прэзідэнт падпісвае яго ў пяцідзённы тэрмін з дня прыняцця Канстытуцыйным Судом адпаведнага заключэння. У выпадку прызнання Канстытуцыйным Судом закона не адпаведным Канстытуцыі Прэзідэнт вяртае яго ў Палату прадстаўнікоў.

Если Президент в течение указанного срока обратится в Конституционный Суд с предложением о проверке конституционности закона, срок для подписания такого закона приостанавливается на время рассмотрения предложения Конституционным Судом. Заключение Конституционного Суда должно быть принято не позднее десяти дней со дня внесения Президентом соответствующего предложения. Если Конституционный Суд подтвердит конституционность закона, Президент подписывает его в пятидневный срок со дня принятия Конституционным Судом соответствующего заключения. В случае признания Конституционным Судом закона не соответствующим Конституции Президент возвращает его в Палату представителей.
Если Президент не возвращает какой-либо закон на протяжении двух недель после того, как он был представлен Президенту, а в случае принятия Конституционным Судом заключения о конституционности закона – пяти дней со дня принятия соответствующего заключения, закон считается подписанным. Закон не считается подписанным и не вступает в силу, если он не мог быть возвращен в Парламент в связи с окончанием сессии.

The Constitutional Court pronounces whether state treaties are unlawful. Art. 140 shall apply to political, to law-modifying and to law-amending state treaties and to state treaties modifying the Treaty basis of the European Union, Art. 139 to all other state treaties with the following proviso,

- English(1) A person who alleges that any provisions of this Constitution, other than a provision of Chapter III3, has been contravened and that the person’s interest is being or is likely to be affected by the contravention may, subject to this article, apply to the Constitutional Court for redress.
(2) The Constitutional Court may decline to entertain an application under clause (1) where the Court is satisfied that the applicant has obtained redress for the contravention under any law and where the applicant has obtained redress in the Constitutional Court for any matter for which an application may be made under clause (1), a court shall not entertain any application for redress for such matter except on appeal from a decision of such court.
(3) Where the Constitutional Court on an application under clause (1) is satisfied that adequate means of redress for the contravention alleged are or have been available to the person concerned in any other court under any other law, the Court may hear the application or transfer the application to the appropriate court for grant of redress in accordance with law.
(4) Upon hearing an application under clause (1), the Constitutional Court may-
(a) declare any act or omission which is the subject of the application to be a contravention of this Constitution;
(b) declare any law or the provision of any law which contravenes this Constitution to be void;
(c) grant any remedy available to the Supreme Court against any person or authority which is the subject of the application or which is a party to any proceedings before the Constitutional Court, as the Court considers appropriate.

(6) Where in the course of any proceedings in any court, other than the Court of Appeal or the supreme court sittings as the Constitutional Court, or tribunal, a question arises with regard to whether there has been or is likely to be a contravention of this Constitution, other than Chapter III, the court or tribunal shall, if it is satisfied that the question is not frivolous or vexatious or has not already been the subject of a decision of the Constitutional Court or the Court of Appeal, immediately adjourn the proceedings and refer the question for determination by the Constitutional Court.
(7) Where in an application under clause (1) or where a matter is referred to the Constitutional Court under clause (6), the person alleging the contravention or risk of contravention establishes a prima facie case, the burden of proving that there has not been a contravention or risk of contravention shall, where the allegation is against the State, be on the State.

- EnglishIf the Chancellor of Justice finds that a legislative instrument passed by the legislative or executive branch of government or by a local authority is in conflict with the Constitution or a law, he or she makes a proposal to the body which passed the instrument to bring it into conformity with the Constitution or the law within twenty days. If the instrument is not brought into conformity with the Constitution or the law within twenty days, the Chancellor of Justice refers the matter to the Supreme Court who may declare the instrument invalid. (Sec. 142)

- EnglishThe Constitutional Council shall have the competence to guarantee the respect of the Constitution, to interpret the Constitution and the Laws adopted by the National Assembly and definitively reviewed by the Senate.
The Constitutional Council has the right to examine and to decide on litigations related to the elections of the Members of the National Assembly and to the elections of the Senators.
