- EnglishThe State recognises the right of every citizen to work and to just and favourable conditions of work and with a view to ensuring the effective exercise of these rights the State undertakes−
(a) to take necessary measures to achieve and maintain a high and stable level of employment, as is practicable, with a view to attaining full employment;
(b) subject to such restrictions as are necessary in a democratic society, to protect effectively the right of a citizen to earn a dignified living in a freely chosen occupation, profession or trade;
(c) to promote vocational guidance and training;
(d) to make and enforce statutory provisions for safe, healthy and fair conditions of work, including reasonable rest, leisure, paid holidays, remuneration which guarantees, as a minimum, dignified and decent living conditions for the workers and their families, fair and equal wages for work of equal value without distinction and stability of employment.

- English1. Everyone shall have the right to safe and hygienic conditions of work. The methods of implementing this right and the obligations of employers shall be specified by statute.
2. An employee shall have the right to statutorily specified days free from work as well as annual paid holidays; the maximum permissible hours of work shall be specified by statute. - EnglishMotherhood of the working woman is protected. The pregnant woman may not be separated from her public or private employment for this reason. For a minimum of six weeks prior to confinement and eight weeks thereafter, she is entitled to rest with the same remuneration that she was receiving, and her job shall be kept for her, as well as all the rights inherent to her contract. Upon returning to work, the mother may not be dismissed for one year, except in special cases prescribed by law, which shall in addition, regulate the special working conditions of the pregnant woman. Durante un mínimo de seis semanas precedentes al parto y las ocho que le siguen, gozará de descanso forzoso retribuido del mismo modo que su trabajo y conservará el empleo y todos los derechos correspondientes a su contrato. - English(a) Every citizen has the right to engage in any employment or occupation.
(b) Everyone is entitled to just and safe conditions of work, fair wages, equal remuneration for work of equal value, and equal opportunity for promotion.
(c) Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including limits on hours of work and periodic holidays with pay.
(d) Everyone has the right to spend time at rest and leisure. In order to provide this right to each employed person, the maximum number of working hours have to be determined as well as the length of paid holidays. (Art. 37) - Dhivehi(ހ) ކޮންމެ ރައްޔިތަކަށްމެ އެމީހަކު އިޚްތިޔާރުކުރާ ވަޒީފާއެއް އަދާކުރުމުގެ ނުވަތަ މަސައްކަތެއް ކުރުމުގެ ޙައްޤު ލިބިގެން ވެއެވެ.

(ނ) ވަޒީފާއެއް އަދާކުރާ ކޮންމެ މީހަކައްމެ، މަސައްކަތްކުރާންޖެހޭ ވަގުތު ކަނޑައެޅިފައިވުމާއި، އަރާމުކުރުމާއި މުނިފޫހިފިލުވުމަށް ވަޤުތު ލިބުމުގެ ޙައްޤު ލިބިގެންވެއެވެ. އޭގެތެރޭގައި ވަކި މުއްދަތަކަށް މުސާރައާއެކު ޗުއްޓީ ލިބުމުގެ ޙައްގުވެސް ހިމުނެއެވެ.
(ރ) ކޮންމެ މީހަކަށްމެ އަރާމުކުރުމާއި މުނިފޫހިފިލުވުމަށް ވަޤުތު ހޭދަކުރުމުގެ ޙައްޤު ލިބިގެންވެއެވެ. ވަޒީފާއެއް އަދާކުރާ ކޮމްނެ މީހަކަށްމެ މި ޙައްޤު ލިބިދިނުމަށްޓަކައި، މަސައްކަތްކުރާންޖެހޭ އެންމެ ގިނަވަގުތެއް ކަނޑައަޅައިފައި އޮންނަންވާނެއެވެ. އަދި އުޖޫރައާއެކު ލިބޭ ޗުއްޓީ ކަނޑައެޅިފައި އޮންނަންވާނެއެވެ. El trabajo, en sus diversas modalidades, es objeto de atención prioritaria del Estado, el cual protege especialmente a la madre, al menor de edad y al impedido que trabajan.
