Whereas every person in Solomon Islands is entitled to the fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual, that is to say, the right, whatever his race, place of origin, political opinions, colour, creed or sex, but subject to respect for the rights and freedoms of others and for the public interest,

the provisions of this Chapter shall have effect for the purpose of affording protection of those rights and freedoms subject to such limitations of that protection as are contained in those provisions, being limitations designed to ensure that the enjoyment of the said rights and freedoms by an individual does not prejudice the rights and freedoms of others or the public interest. - EnglishI. The rights recognized in this Constitution are inviolable, universal, interdependent, indivisible and progressive. The State has the duty to promote, protect and respect them.
II. The rights declared in this Constitution shall not be understood to deny other rights that are not enumerated.
III. The classification of the rights established in this Constitution does not determine any hierarchy or superiority of some rights over others.
IV. International treaties and conventions ratified by the Pluri-National Legislative Assembly (Asamblea Legislativa), which recognize human rights and prohibit their limitation in States of Emergency, prevail over internal law. The rights and duties consecrated in this Constitution shall be interpreted in accordance with the International Human Rights Treaties ratified by Bolivia. (Art. 13) - SpanishI. Los tratados y convenios internacionales ratificados por la Asamblea Legislativa Plurinacional, que reconocen los derechos humanos y que prohíben su limitación en los Estados de Excepción prevalecen en el orden interno. Los derechos y deberes consagrados en esta Constitución se interpretarán de conformidad con los Tratados internacionales de derechos humanos ratificados por Bolivia. (Art. 13)

- EnglishBy the declaration of a state of assembly, the President of the Republic is enabled to suspend or restrict personal liberty, the right of assembly and the freedom to work. He can, also, restrict the exercise of the right of association, intercept, open, or record documents and all classes of communications, order [disponer] requisition of assets and establish limitations on the exercise of the right of ownership [propiedad].
By the declaration of a state of siege, the President of the Republic can restrict the freedom of movement and detain [arrestar] persons in their own homes or in places and which the laws determines that are neither jails nor those used for the detention or imprisonment of common criminals. He can also suspend or restrict the exercise of the right of assembly.
By the declaration of a state of catastrophe, the President of the Republic can restrict the freedoms of movement and of assembly. He can, also, order the requisition of assets, establish limitations on the exercise of the right of ownership and adopt all the extraordinary measures of administrative character necessary for the prompt re-establishment of normalcy in the affected zone.
By the declaration of a state of emergency, the President of the Republic can restrict the freedoms of movement and of assembly. Podrá, además, suspender o restringir el ejercicio del derecho de reunión.
Por la declaración del estado de catástrofe, el Presidente de la República podrá restringir las libertades de locomoción y de reunión. Podrá, asimismo, disponer requisiciones de bienes, establecer limitaciones al ejercicio del derecho de propiedad y adoptar todas las medidas extraordinarias de carácter administrativo que sean necesarias para el pronto restablecimiento de la normalidad en la zona afectada.
Por la declaración del estado de emergencia, el Presidente de la República podrá restringir las libertades de locomoción y de reunión. (Art. 43)

None of the provisions of the present Constitution may be interpreted in a way detrimental to the rights and interests of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the basic principles and norms stipulated in section one of this Constitution.
Laws and other normative legal acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan shall be adopted on the basis of and in fulfillment of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. None of the laws or other normative legal acts may run counter to the norms and principles of the Constitution. (Art. 16) - Uzbek

- EnglishIn the case of the national sovereignty or the territorial integrity being seen as in grave and imminent danger by external armed aggressions, the Executive Power, without prejudice to the inherent abilities of his office, may request from the National Congress the declaration of State of Defense. In this state the following may not be suspended:
1. The right to life, following the provisions of Article 37.
2. The right to personal integrity, following the provisions of Article 42.
3. Liberty of conscience and religions, following the provisions of Article 45.
4. The protection of the family, following the provisions of Article 55.
5. The right to one’s name, following the provisions of Article 55, number 7.
6. The rights of the child, following the provisions of Article 56.
7. The right to nationality, following the provisions of Article 18.
8. The rights of citizenship, following the provisions of Article 22.
9. The prohibition of slavery and servitude, following the provisions of Article 41.
10. The principle of legality and of non-retroactivity, following that established in Article 40, numbers 13 and 15.
11. The right to the recognition of juridical personality, following the provisions of Articles 43 and 55, number 7.
12. The judicial, process, and institutional guarantees indispensable for the protection of those rights, following the provisions of Article 69, 71, and 72. 11) El derecho al reconocimiento de la personalidad jurídica, según las disposiciones de los artículos 43 y 55, numeral 7);
12) Las garantías judiciales, procesales e institucionales indispensables para la protección de estos derechos, según las disposiciones de los artículos 69, 71 y 72. (Art. 263)

- EnglishThe National Assembly and all bodies with legal and regulatory authority shall be obligated to adjust, formally and materially, the laws and other legal standards related to the rights provided for in the Constitution and international treaties and those that are needed to guarantee the dignity of human beings or communities, peoples and nations. In no case shall amending the Constitution, laws, other legal and regulatory frameworks or actions by the government endanger the rights recognized by the Constitution. (Art. 84)
- SpanishLa Asamblea Nacional y todo órgano con potestad normativa tendrá la obligación de adecuar, formal y materialmente, las leyes y demás normas jurídicas a los derechos previstos en la Constitución y los tratados internacionales, y los que sean necesarios para garantizar la dignidad del ser humano o de las comunidades, pueblos y nacionalidades. - English(1) Duties may be imposed only on the basis, and within the bounds, of law, and only while respecting the fundamental rights and freedoms.
(2) Limitations may be placed upon the fundamental rights and freedoms only by law and under the conditions prescribed in this Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms (hereinafter "Charter").
(3) Any statutory limitation upon the fundamental rights and freedoms must apply in the same way to all cases which meet the specified conditions.
(4) When employing the provisions concerning limitations upon the fundamental rights and freedoms, the essence and significance of these rights and freedoms must be preserved. Such limitations shall not be misused for purposes other than those for which they were enacted. (Charter, Art. 4) - Czech(1) Povinnosti mohou být ukládány toliko na základě zákona a v jeho mezích a jen při zachování základních práv a svobod.
(2) Meze základních práv a svobod mohou být za podmínek stanovených Listinou základních práv a svobod (dále jen "Listina") upraveny pouze zákonem.
(3) Zákonná omezení základních práv a svobod musí platit stejně pro všechny případy, které splňují stanovené podmínky.
(4) Při používání ustanovení o mezích základních práv a svobod musí být šetřeno jejich podstaty a smyslu. Taková omezení nesmějí být zneužívána k jiným účelům, než pro které byla stanovena. (Listina, Čl. 4)
