(1) The right to marry and found a family is guaranteed by law.
(2) A civil monogamous marriage between a man and a woman is the only recognised marital union.

- EnglishThe family is the natural base cell of society. Marriage is the legitimate support of it. Family and marriage are placed under the particular protection of the State.
Parents have the natural right and the duty to educate and raise their children. They are supported, in this task, by the State and the public collectivities.
Every child has the right, on the part of their family, of the society and of the State, to the measures of special protection required by their condition as [a] minor.
