- English(1) Subject to the provisions of subsections (4), (5) and (7) of this section, no law shall make any provision that is discriminatory either of itself or in its effect.

Everyone shall have the right to form a family. Men and women who have reached the age of marriage shall have the right freely to marry. In marriage and in divorce, husband and wife shall have equal rights.

- EnglishThe State shall guarantee respect for the reproductive rights of all workers, including the elimination of labor risks affecting reproductive health, access to employment and job security, without limitations due to pregnancy or number of children, maternity and breast-feeding rights, and the right to paternity leave.
The dismissal of a working woman because of pregnancy and maternity, along with discrimination in connection with reproductive roles, is forbidden. - EnglishEvery person has the right to adequate, safe and comfortable, hygienic housing, with appropriate essential basic services, including a habitat such as to humanize family, neighborhood and community relations. The progressive meeting of this requirement is the shared responsibility of citizens and the State in all areas.
The State shall give priority to families, and shall guarantee them, especially those with meager resources, the possibility of access to social policies and credit for the construction, purchase or enlargement of dwellings. (1) The right to marry and found a family is guaranteed by law.
(2) A civil monogamous marriage between a man and a woman is the only recognised marital union.
(3) However, a monogamous marriage between a man and a woman contracted outside Rwanda in accordance with the law of the country of celebration of the marriage is recognised.
(4) No one can enter into marriage without his or her free and full consent.
(5) Spouses are entitled to equal rights and obligations at the time of marriage, during the marriage and at the time of divorce.
