- EnglishI. The marriage between a man and a woman is formed by legal bond and is based on equality of the rights and duties of the spouses.
II. The free unions or de facto unions, which meet the conditions of stability and singularity and that are maintained between a man and a women without legal impediment, shall have the same effects as a civil marriage, both in the personal and property relations of the couple as well as with respect to adopted children or to children born to the couple. - EnglishThe family is the natural base cell of society. Marriage is the legitimate support of it. Family and marriage are placed under the particular protection of the State.
Parents have the natural right and the duty to educate and raise their children. They are supported, in this task, by the State and the public collectivities.
Every child has the right, on the part of their family, of the society and of the State, to the measures of special protection required by their condition as [a] minor. It is the duty and right of parents to support, raise and educate their children, even if born out of wedlock.
Is case of incapacity of the parents, the law shall provide for the fulfilment of their duties.
The law shall ensure any children born out of wedlock all legal and social protection measures as are compatible with the rights of the members of the legitimate family.
The law shall establish rules and limits for the determination of paternity. (Art. 30) - Italian

Nei casi di incapacità dei genitori, la legge provvede a che siano assolti i loro compiti.

- English1. The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.
2. Each member of the family shall enjoy full and equal respect and shall be protected by law against all forms of neglect, cruelty or exploitation.
3. All men and women have the right to marry and found a family.
4. No person shall be forced to enter into marriage.
5. Subsections (3) and (4) shall apply to all marriages at law, custom and marriages by repute or by permanent cohabitation.
6. No person over the age of eighteen years shall be prevented from entering into marriage.
