As for candidacies in multi-person elections, their participation shall be respected by rotation of power and sequencing.
The State shall adopt affirmative action measures to guarantee the participation of discriminated sectors. - English(1) Every citizen has the right to take part in public affairs. This right includes:
(a) The right to form political parties and to participate in the activities of political parties; and
(b) The right to be elected for any position within a political party.
(2) Every citizen who fulfills the criteria stated in the law has the right to elect and to be elected.
