- EnglishThe candidates for President of the Republic shall be proposed by a minimum of one thousand and a maximum of four thousand voting citizens and must be introduced to the Constitutional Court up to the sixtieth day prior to the date of the elections. (Art. 111)

- EnglishThe President of the Republic of Azerbaijan can be any citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been residing in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan without interruption for more than 10 years, enjoys the right to vote, has never been tried for a major crime, has no commitments towards other States, has benefited from higher education and does not have dual citizenship. - English1. A President shall be elected by registered voters in accordance with Article 47 (1) and this Article.
2. The Returning Officer shall declare the presidential candidate who receives more than fifty percent of the valid votes cast during the election as President-elect.
3. If at the initial ballot a presidential candidate does not receive more than fifty percent of the valid votes cast, a second ballot shall be held within thirty-seven days of the initial ballot, where the only candidates shall be the presidential candidates who obtained—
a. the highest and second highest number of valid votes cast in the initial ballot; or
b. an equal number of the valid votes cast in the initial ballot, being the highest votes amongst the presidential candidates that stood for election to the office of President.

- EnglishThe President is elected by the Riigikogu or, in the case provided in paragraph four of this section, by the Electoral College.
The right to nominate a candidate for the election of the President rests with not less than one-fifth of the members of the Riigikogu.
Nominations of candidates for President may be made from among citizens of Estonia by birth who have attained at least forty years of age.
