- English(1) Any list of candidates for an election held pursuant to the provisions of article 60 (2) shall designate not more than one of those candidates as a Presidential candidate. An elector voting at such an election in favour of a list shall be deemed to be also voting in favour of the Presidential candidate named in the list.
(2) Where -
(a) there is only one Presidential candidate at the election; or
(b) there are two or more Presidential candidates, if more votes are cast in favour of the list in which a person is designated as Presidential candidate than in favour of any other list,
that Presidential candidate shall be deemed to be elected as President and shall be so declared by the Chairman of the Elections Commission acting only in accordance with the advice of the Chief Election Officer, after such advice has been tendered to the Elections Commission at a duly summoned meeting.

The following qualifications [calidades] are required to be the President or Vice President of the Republic:
1) To be a national of Nicaragua. Those who have acquired other nationality must have renounced it at least four years prior to the election being verified.
2) To be in full enjoyment of one's civil and political rights.
3) To have completed twenty-five years of age.
4) To have resided in continuous form in the country [for] the four years preceding the election, save [when] during this time [periodo] fulfilling a diplomatic mission, working in international organs [organismos] or realizing study abroad.

Para ser Presidente o Vicepresidente de la República se requiere de las siguientes calidades:
1) Ser nacional de Nicaragua. Quien hubiese adquirido otra nacionalidad deberá haber renunciado a ella al menos cuatro años antes de verificarse la elección.
2) Estar en pleno goce de sus derechos civiles y políticos.
3) Haber cumplido veinticinco años de edad.
4) Haber residido de forma continua en el país los cuatro años anteriores a la elección, salvo que durante dicho período cumpliere misión diplomática, trabajare en organismos internacionales o realizare estudios en el extranjero.

- English(1) A person is qualified to be nominated for election as President if, and is not so qualified unless, he is a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago of the age of thirty-five years or upwards who at the date of his nomination has been ordinarily resident in Trinidad and Tobago for ten years immediately preceding his nomination.

The President of the Republic shall be elected by Parliament in joint session of its members.
Three delegates from each Region, as shall have been elected by their respective Regional Councils so as to ensure the representation of the opposition, shall participate in the election. Valle d’Aosta shall have one delegate.
The President of the Republic shall be elected by secret ballot by a majority of two thirds of the assembly. After the third ballot an absolute majority shall suffice. (Art. 83) - Italian
Il Presidente della Repubblica è eletto dal Parlamento in seduta comune dei suoi membri.
All’elezione partecipano tre delegati per ogni Regione eletti dal Consiglio regionale in modo che sia assicurata la rappresentanza delle minoranze. La Valle d’Aosta ha un solo delegato.
L’elezione del Presidente della Repubblica ha luogo per scrutinio segreto a maggioranza di due terzi dell’assemblea. Dopo il terzo scrutinio è sufficiente la maggioranza assoluta. (Art. 83)
