To be [a] deputy it is required:
I. To be a Mexican citizen, by birth, in the exercise of their rights.
II. To be eighteen years of age on the day of the election;
III. To be of origin of the federative entity in which the election is held or resident [vecino] of it with effective residence of more than six months prior to the date of it.
In order to be able to figure on the lists of the plurinomial electoral circumscriptions as a candidate for deputy, it is required to be of origin of any of the federative entities that comprise the circumscription in which the election is held, or [to be] resident of it with effective residence of more than six months prior to the date that it is celebrated.
Residency is not lost for absence in the discharge of public offices [cargos] of popular election.

Para ser diputado se requiere:
I. Ser ciudadano mexicano, por nacimiento, en el ejercicio de sus derechos.
II. Tener dieciocho años cumplidos el día de la elección;
III. Ser originario de la entidad federativa en que se haga la elección o vecino de esta con residencia efectiva de más de seis meses anteriores a la fecha de ella.
Para poder figurar en las listas de las circunscripciones electorales plurinominales como candidato a diputado, se requiere ser originario de alguna de las entidades federativas que comprenda la circunscripción en la que se realice la elección, o vecino de ella con residencia efectiva de más de seis meses anteriores a la fecha en que la misma se celebre.
La vecindad no se pierde por ausencia en el desempeño de cargos públicos de elección popular.

(e) he is able, with a degree of proficiency sufficient to enable him to take an active part in the proceedings of Parliament, to speak and, unless incapacitated by blindness or other physical cause, to read and write at least one of the following languages, that is to say, English, Malay, Mandarin and Tamil; and
(f) he is not disqualified from being a Member of Parliament under Article 45.

- English(1) For the purposes of the election of women Members of Parliament mentioned in Article 66(1) (b), political parties which took part in the general election in accordance with the procedure laid down and obtained at least five percentum of the total valid voters for Parliamentary election, shall propose to the Electoral Commission the names of women on the basis of the proportion of votes obtained by each party in the Parliamentary election.
(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of subarticle (1), the following votes shall be counted as valid votes for the unopposed Member of Parliament in the constituent –
(a) where a political party has nominated a Presidential candidate, presidential votes cast in the constituency for a Presidential candidate from that political party; or
(b) where a political party has not nominated a presidential candidate, fifty one percentum of the votes of the total voters registered in the respective constituency.
(3) The names of the persons proposed to the Electoral Commission in accordance with subarticle (1) shall be declared to be the results of the election after the Commission is satisfied that the relevant provisions of the Constitution and of other legislation have been complied with.
(4) The list of names for women candidates submitted to the Electoral Commission by each political party for general election shall be the list to be applied by the Electoral Commission after consultation of the party concerned, for purpose of filling any vacancy of Members of Parliament of this category whenever the vacancy occurs during the life of Parliament.
