- EnglishEvery person shall, unless disqualified as hereinafter provided, be qualified to be an elector at the election of the President and of the Members of Parliament or to vote at any Referendum:
Provided that no such person shall be entitled to vote unless his name is entered in the appropriate register of electors. (1) Persons who are committed to common political ideology, philosophy and program may, subject to laws made pursuant to sub-clause (c) of clause (2) of Article 17, form and operate political parties, and generate, or cause to be generated, publicity in order to secure support and cooperation from public-in-general for their ideology, philosophy and program or carry out other necessary activity for this purpose.

- English(1) The elections to Parliament shall be on the basis of adult franchise.
(2) A person shall be entitled to be enrolled on the electoral roll for a constituency delimited for the purpose of election to the Parliament, if he
(a) is a citizen of Bangladesh;
(b) is not less than eighteen years of age;
(c) does not stand declared by a competent court to be of unsound mind;
(d) is or is deemed by law to be a resident of that constituency ; and
(e) has not been convicted of any offence under the Bangladesh Collaborators (Special Tribunals) Order, 1972. (Art. 122) - Bengali(১) প্রাপ্ত বয়স্কের ভোটাধিকার-ভিত্তিতে সংসদের নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হইবে।
(২) কোন ব্যক্তি সংসদের নির্বাচনের জন্য নির্ধারিত কোন নির্বাচনী এলাকায় ভোটার-তালিকাভু্ক্ত হইবার অধিকারী হইবেন, যদি
(ক) তিনি বাংলাদেশের নাগরিক হন;
(খ) তাঁহার বয়স আঠার বৎসরের কম না হয়;
(গ) কোন যোগ্য আদালত কর্তৃক তাঁহার সম্পর্কে অপ্রকৃতিস্থ বলিয়া ঘোষণা বহাল না থাকিয়া থাকে;
(ঘ) তিনি ঐ নির্বাচনী এলাকার অধিবাসী বা আইনের দ্বারা ঐ নির্বাচনী এলাকার অধিবাসী বিবেচিত হন; এবং
(ঙ) তিনি ১৯৭২ সালের বাংলাদেশ যোগসাজশকারী (বিশেষ ট্রাইব্যুনাল) আদেশের অধীন কোন অপরাধের জন্য দণ্ডিত না হইয়া থাকেন। (অনুচ্ছেদ ১২২)

- EnglishIn as much as it is not contrary to the Constitution, the citizens may organize themselves along political, professional and union lines. They have the right to form associations in scientific, cultural, social and national unions in a way that serves the goals of the Constitution. The state shall guarantee these rights, and shall take the necessary measures to enable citizens to exercise them. The state shall guarantee freedom for the political, trade, cultural, scientific and social organizations. (Art. 58)

- EnglishA person having the following qualifications has the right to vote at an election:
1. being of Thai nationality, provided that a person who has acquired Thai nationality by naturalisation must hold the Thai nationality for not less than five years;
2. being not less than eighteen years of age on the election day;
3. having his or her name listed in the household register in the constituency for not less than ninety days up to the date of the election.

- English1. Elected organs of sovereignty and of local government shall be chosen by free, direct, secret, personal and regular universal suffrage.
2. Registration of voters shall be compulsory and officially initiated, single and universal, to be up-dated for each election.
3. Electoral campaigns shall be governed in accordance with the following principles:
a) Freedom to canvass;
b) Equality of opportunity and treatment for all candidacies;
c) Impartiality towards candidacies on the part of public bodies;
d) Transparency and supervision of electoral expenses.
4. Conversion of the votes into mandates shall observe the principle of proportional representation;
5. The electoral process shall be regulated by law.
