- English(1) Where at the first meeting of the House after any general election it appears that female members of Parliament will not constitute at least thirty percentum of the total membership of Parliament, then, and only then, the provisions of this section shall apply.
(2) For the purposes of this section, the House shall form itself into an electoral college and elect not more than four women on a regional basis to the House in accordance with the provisions of section 95(3). (Sec. 86)

Subject to the provisions of section 59 of this Constitution, a person shall be qualified to be nominated as a Senator by the King acting in accordance with the advice of the Council of State or designated by a Principal Chief as a Senator in his place if, and shall not be so qualified unless, at the date of his nomination or designation, he—
a. is a citizen of Lesotho; and
b. is able to speak and, unless incapacitated by blindness or other physical cause, to read and write either the Sesotho or English languages well enough to take an active part in the proceedings of the Senate.
2. Subject to the provisions of section 59 of this Constitution, a person shall be qualified to be elected as a member of the National Assembly if, and shall not be so qualified unless, at the date of his nomination for election, he—
a. is a citizen of Lesotho; and
b. is registered in some constituency as an elector in elections to the National Assembly and is not disqualified from voting in such elections; and
c. is able to speak and, unless incapacitated by blindness or other physical cause, to read and write either the Sesotho or English language well enough to take an active part in the proceedings of the National Assembly. (Sec. 58)

1. To be Panamanian by birth, or through naturalization, and to have resided for fifteen years in the country after naturalization;
2. To be a citizen in the exercise of his/her legal rights;
3. To be at least twenty one years of age at the time of election;
4. Not to have been sentenced for premeditated offense to five years or more in prison by enforceable decision of a court of law;
