Status of the Constitution

In case of international crisis, or of real threats to the vital interests of all or part of the population or of imminent danger resulting from grave infringement of public security, the Grand Duke, after having declared urgency resulting from the impossibility of the chamber of deputies to legislate in the appropriate time periods, may take regulatory measures in all matters.
These measures may derogate from existing laws. They must be necessary, appropriate and proportionate to the goal pursued and be in conformity with the Constitution and with the international treaties.

Status of the Constitution
- EnglishThe Constitutional Declaration issued on July 5th, 2013, the Constitutional Declaration issued on July 8th, 2013, and any constitutional texts or provisions of the Constitution issued in 2012 but not covered by this constitutional document shall be deemed repealed as of the date that this Constitution comes into effect. Their consequential effects shall however remain in force. (Art. 246)

- EnglishThe international treaties existing prior to the Constitution, which do not contradict it, shall be maintained in the internal legal order with the rank of law. Within the period of four years after the election of the new Executive Organ, the Executive shall renounce and, in that case, renegotiate the international treaties that may be contrary to the Constitution. (Transitional Provisions, Ninth)
- SpanishLos tratados internacionales anteriores a la Constitución y que no la contradigan se mantendrán en el ordenamiento jurídico interno, con rango de ley. En el plazo de cuatro años desde la elección del nuevo Órgano Ejecutivo, éste denunciará y, en su caso, renegociará los tratados internacionales que sean contrarios a la Constitución. (1) The Nepal laws in force at the time of commencement of this Constitution shall continue to be in force until such laws are repealed or amended.
Provided that any law, which is inconsistent with this Constitution, shall ipso facto be void to the extent of such inconsistency, after one year of the date on which the first session of the Federal Parliament set forth in this Constitution is held.
(2) Acts relating to peace process in accordance with the Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2007 shall be deemed to be carried out in accordance with this Constitution. (Art. 304) - Nepali
(१) यो संविधान प्रारम्भ हुँदाका बखत कायम रहेका नेपाली कानून खारेज वा संशोधन नभएसम्म लागू रहनेछन् ।
तर यो संविधानसँग बाझिएको कानून यो संविधान बमोजिमको संघीय संसदको पहिलो अधिवेशन बसेको मितिले एक वर्षपछि बाझिएको हदसम्म स्वतः अमान्य हुनेछ ।
(२) नेपालको अन्तरिम संविधान, २०६३ बमोजिमका शान्ति प्रक्रिया सम्बन्धी कार्यहरू यसै संविधान बमोजिम भए गरेको मानिनेछ । (धारा ३०४)
