- EnglishThis Constitution is the supreme law of Saint Lucia and, subject to the provisions of section 41, if any other law is inconsistent with this Constitution, this Constitution shall prevail and the other law shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, be void. (Sec. 120)

The State must promote public awareness of this Constitution, in particular by—
(a) translating it into all officially recognised languages and disseminating it as widely as possible;
(b) requiring this Constitution to be taught in schools and as part of the curricula for the training of members of the security services, the Public Service and members and employees of public institutions; and
(c) encouraging all persons and organisations, including civic organisations, to disseminate awareness and knowledge of this Constitution throughout society. (Sec. 7)

- English1. The laws issued in accordance with this Constitution for the regulation of rights and freedoms may not influence the essence of such rights or affect their fundamentals.
2. All laws, regulations and other legislative acts in force in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan when this Constitution comes into force shall remain in force until they are repealed or amended by a legislation issued thereunder within a maximum period of three years. 2. إن جميع القوانين والأنظمة وسائر الأعمال التشريعية المعمول بها في المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية عند نفاذ هذا الدستور تبقى نافذة إلى أن تلغى أو تعدل بتشريع يصدر بمقتضاه وذلك خلال مدة أقصاها ثلاث سنوات. (المادة 128)
