- English1. Rules and principles of general or customary international law shall be an integral part of São Toméan law.
2. Rules provided for in international conventions, treaties and agreements duly approved and ratified by their competent bodies shall be binding in the São Toméan legal order following their official publication, and so long as they remain internationally binding with respect to the São Toméan State.
3. Rules provided for in international conventions, treaties and agreements duly approved and ratified by their competent bodies shall have prevalence, following their enforcement in international and national law, over all internal legislations and regulatory rules of infra-constitutional force. (2) An international agreement binds the Republic only after it has been approved by resolution in both the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces, unless it is an agreement referred to in subsection (3).
(3) An international agreement of a technical, administrative or executive nature, or an agreement which does not require either ratification or accession, entered into by the national executive, binds the Republic without approval by the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces, but must be tabled in the Assembly and the Council within a reasonable time.
(4) Any international agreement becomes law in the Republic when it is enacted into law by national legislation; but a self-executing provision of an agreement that has been approved by Parliament is law in the Republic unless it is inconsistent with the Constitution or an Act of Parliament.
(5) The Republic is bound by international agreements which were binding on the Republic when this Constitution took effect. (Sec. 231)

- English1. General or common international law shall be an integral part of the Cabo Verdean legal order.
2. International treaties and agreements, validly approved or ratified, shall enter into force in the Cabo Verdean legal order subsequent to their official publication and entry into force in the international legal order as long as they remain internationally binding on the State of Cabo Verde.
3. Legal acts emanating from the competent organs of supranational organizations of which Cabo Verde is a member, shall enter directly into force in the domestic legal order, provided that such entry into force is established in the respective constitutive conventions.
4. The rules and principles of general or common as well as of conventional international law validly approved or ratified shall prevail, after their entry into force in the international and domestic legal orders, over all legislative and domestic regulatory acts of infra-constitutional force.
