- English(1) When interpreting the rights set out in this Chapter9, a court shall take an approach that seeks to achieve the purposes of the rights and the values that underlie them.

Status of International Law
- EnglishNothing in the application of this Constitution shall affect treaties or agreements concluded by member Emirates with states or international organizations unless such treaties or agreements are amended or abrogated by agreement between the parties concerned. (Art. 147)

- EnglishProposals for a referendum cannot be introduced concerning Articles 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 and 21, regarding restrictions or the abolition of the rights and freedoms of man and citizens, provided for in Chapter III of the present Constitution, to a higher degree than is provided for by international agreements to which the Republic of Azerbaijan is a party. - EnglishInternational treaties which have been concluded and ratified in accordance with the Constitution, which have been published and which have entered into force shall be a component of the domestic legal order of the Republic of Croatia and shall have primacy over domestic law.
