If it has been laid down in law that an international agreement shall have validity as Swedish law, the Riksdag may prescribe that any future amendment which is binding upon the country shall also have validity as Swedish law. Such a decision relates only to a future amendment of limited extent. The decision is taken in accordance with the procedure laid down in Article 6, paragraph two. Föreskrivs i lag att en internationell överenskommelse ska gälla som svensk rätt, får riksdagen besluta att även en framtida, för riket bindande ändring i överenskommelsen ska gälla som svensk rätt.
