- English(1) Constitutional provisions concerning the citizens' rights and liberties shall be interpreted and enforced in conformity with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, with the covenants and other treaties Romania is a party to.
(2) Where any inconsistencies exist between the covenants and treaties on the fundamental human rights Romania is a party of, and the national laws, the international regulations shall take precedence, unless the Constitution or national laws comprise more favourable provisions. (Art. 20) - Romanian(1) Dispoziţiile constituţionale privind drepturile şi libertăţile cetăţenilor vor fi interpretate şi aplicate în concordanţă cu Declaraţia Universală a Drepturilor Omului, cu pactele şi cu celelalte tratate la care România este parte.

- English(1) The fundamental human rights and freedoms enshrined and in this Chapter4 shall be respected and upheld by all organs of the Executive and its agencies, the Legislature and, where applicable to them, by all natural and legal persons in The Gambia, and shall be enforceable by the Courts in accordance with this Constitution.
(2) Every person in The Gambia, whatever his or her race, colour, gender, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status, shall be entitled to the fundamental human rights and freedoms of the individual contained in this Chapter, but subject to respect for the rights and freedoms of others and for the public interest. - EnglishHuman and minority rights guaranteed by the Constitution shall be implemented directly.
The Constitution shall guarantee, and as such, directly implement human and minority rights guaranteed by the generally accepted rules of international law, ratified international treaties and laws. The law may prescribe manner of exercising these rights only if explicitly stipulated in the Constitution or necessary to exercise a specific right owing to its nature, whereby the law may not under any circumstances influence the substance of the relevant guaranteed right.
Provisions on human and minority rights shall be interpreted to the benefit of promoting values of a democratic society, pursuant to valid international standards in human and minority rights, as well as the practice of international institutions which supervise their implementation. Уставом се јемче, и као таква, непосредно се примењују људска и мањинска права зајемчена општеприхваћеним правилима међународног права, потврђеним међународним уговорима и законима. Законом се може прописати начин остваривања ових права само ако је то Уставом изричито предвиђено или ако је то неопходно за остварење појединог права због његове природе, при чему закон ни у ком случају не сме да утиче на суштину зајемченог права.
Одредбе о људским и мањинским правима тумаче се у корист унапређења вредности демократског друштва, сагласно важећим међународним стандaрдима људских и мањинских права, као и пракси међународних институција којe надзиру њихово спровођење. (Члан 18)

- English(1) Subject to paragraphs (3) and (6), every person, as contemplated by the respective international treaties set out in the Fourth Schedule to which Guyana has acceded is entitled to the human rights enshrined in the said international treaties, and such rights shall be respected and upheld by the executive, legislature judiciary and all organs and agencies of Government and, where applicable to them, by all natural and legal persons and shall be enforceable in the manner hereinafter prescribed.
(2) The rights referred to in paragraph (1) do not include any fundamental right under this Constitution.
(3) The State shall, having regard to the socio-cultural level of development of the society, take reasonable legislative and other measures within its available resources to achieve the progressive realisation of the rights provided for in paragraph (1).
(4) If any person alleges that any of the rights referred to in paragraph (1), has been, is being or is about to be contravened in relation to him or her, then, without prejudice to any other action with respect to the same matter which is lawfully available, that person may apply to the Human Rights Commission in such manner as the Commission may prescribe, for redress.
(5) Nothing contained in this article shall be construed so as to abrogate any human right, not enumerated herein, which a person had at the time of the commencement of this Article.
(6) The State may divest itself or otherwise limit the extent of its obligation under any of the treaties listed in the Fourth Schedule, provided that two thirds of the elected members of the National Assembly have voted in favour of such divestment or limitation. (Art. 154A)
