- EnglishThe Elections Commission’s responsibilities and powers include the following:
(a) to conduct, manage, supervise, and facilitate all elections and public referendums, to ensure the proper exercise of the right to vote, and to ensure that all elections and public referendums are conducted freely and fairly, without intimidation, aggression, undue influence or corruption;
(b) to prepare, maintain, and update electoral rolls, and to make all arrangements for holding elections and public referendums;
(c) to hold and declare the results of those elections and public referendums within periods prescribed by law;
(d)to compile the register of voters in each constituency, to revise it at such periods as shall be determined by law and to provide for publication of the register in the Government Gazette;
(e) to fix, vary, demarcate and continuously review the boundaries and names of constituencies or voting units in all elections in accordance with principles specified by law and to provide for publication of any amendments in the Government Gazette;
(f) to register political parties, and to perform those actions relating to political parties as specified by law;
(g) to educate and create awareness among the general public on the electoral process and its purpose;

Such supervision or regulation shall aim to ensure equal opportunity, time, and space, and the right to reply, including reasonable, equal rates therefor, for public information campaigns and forums among candidates in connection with the objective of holding free, orderly, honest, peaceful, and credible elections. - English(1) The superintendence, direction and control of the preparation of the electoral rolls for elections to the office of President and to Parliament and the conduct of such elections shall vest in the Election Commission which shall, in accordance with this Constitution and any other law -
(a) hold elections to the office of President;
(b) hold elections of members of Parliament;
(c) delimit the constituencies for the purpose of elections to Parliament ; and
(d) prepare electoral rolls for the purpose of elections to the office of President and to Parliament.
(2) The Election Commission shall perform such functions, in addition to those specified in the foregoing clauses, as may be prescribed by this Constitution or by any other law. (২) উপরি-উক্ত দফাসমূহে নির্ধারিত দায়িত্বসমূহের অতিরিক্ত যেরূপ দায়িত্ব এই সংবিধান বা অন্য কোন আইনের দ্বারা নির্ধারিত হইবে, নির্বাচন কমিশন সেইরূপ দায়িত্ব পালন করিবেন। (অনুচ্ছেদ ১১৯)

(b) The Elections Commission is an independent and impartial institution. It shall exercise its duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution and laws enacted by the People’s Majlis.
(c) The Elections Commission shall function as provided by the statute governing the Elections Commission. - EnglishThe Commission on Elections shall exercise the following powers and functions:
(1) Enforce and administer all laws and regulations relative to the conduct of an election, plebiscite, initiative, referendum, and recall.
(2) Exercise exclusive original jurisdiction over all contests relating to the elections, returns, and qualifications of all elective regional, provincial, and city officials, and appellate jurisdiction over all contests involving elective municipal officials decided by trial courts of general jurisdiction, or involving elective barangay officials decided by trial courts of limited jurisdiction.
Decisions, final orders, or rulings of the Commission on election contests involving elective municipal and barangay offices shall be final, executory, and not appealable.
(3) Decide, except those involving the right to vote, all questions affecting elections, including determination of the number and location of polling places, appointment of election officials and inspectors, and registration of voters.
(4) Deputize, with the concurrence of the President, law enforcement agencies and instrumentalities of the Government, including the Armed Forces of the Philippines, for the exclusive purpose of ensuring free, orderly, honest, peaceful, and credible elections.

(6) File, upon a verified complaint, or on its own initiative, petitions in court for inclusion or exclusion of voters; investigate and, where appropriate, prosecute cases of violations of election laws, including acts or omissions constituting election frauds, offenses, and malpractices.

(3) Magpasya, matangi roon sa mga may kinalaman sa karapatan sa pagboto, sa lahat ng mga suliranin tungkol sa mga halalan, kasama ang pagpapasya sa bilang at kinalalagyan ng mga botohan, paghirang ng mga pinuno at mga inspektor ng halalan, at parerehistro ng mga botante.
(4) Magsugo, sa pagsang-ayon ng Pangulo, sa mga sangay at kasangkapang tagapagpatupad ng batas ng Pamahalaan, kasama ang Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas, ukol sa tanging layuning matiyak ang malaya, maayos, malinis, mapayapa, at kapani-paniwalang halalan.
