The following are the independent Commissions—
(a) the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission;

The organization, direction and supervision of the acts relative to the suffrage, correspond in exclusive form to the Supreme Tribunal of Elections, which enjoys independence in the performance of its mission. The other electoral organs are dependent of the Tribunal. (Art. 99)

Electoral Power is exercised by the National Electoral Council as governing body, and by the latter’s subordinate organs, the National Board of Elections, the Civil Status and Voter Registration Commission and the Commission on Political Participation and Financing, with organization and functioning as established under the pertinent organic law. (Art. 292)

The law shall determine the competent Judicial Authority that shall decide on the validity of the Members' election of Al‐Shoura Council. (Art. 82)

Upon the proposal submitted by the Central Electoral Commission, the Constitutional Court rules either on the validation of the mandate of the Member of Parliament, or on invalidation whenever electoral legislation has been infringed. (Art. 62)

The Independent National Authority of Elections has as [its] mission to prepare, to organize, to administer and to supervise the presidential, legislative, [and] local elections as well as the operations of referendum.
The Independent National Authority of Elections exercises its missions on the operations of registration on the electoral lists and their revision, as well as the operations of preparation of the electoral operation, of the operations of voting, of counting and decides on electoral disputes, in accordance with the legislation in force.
It exercises its missions from the convocation of the electoral body until the announcement of the provisional results.
The Independent National Authority of Elections exercises its missions with transparency, with impartiality and neutrality. (Art. 202)

The Electoral Commission shall have the following functions—
(a) to compile the register of voters and revise it at such periods as may be determined by law;
(b) to demarcate the electoral boundaries for both national and local government elections;
(c) to conduct and supervise all public elections and referenda;
(d) to educate the people on the electoral process and its purpose;
(e) to undertake programmes for the expansion of the registration of voters; and
(f) to perform such other functions as may be prescribed by law. (Art. 45)

(1) There shall be established a National Independent Electoral Commission, established under the Constitution. The National Independent Electoral Commission shall be independent of the executive and shall manage its own budget. The National Independent Electoral Commission shall be inclusive and representative and be impartial and neutral and shall not have more than nine members.
(2) The mandate of the National Independent Electoral Commission includes:
(a) The conduct of presidential elections;
(b) The conduct of Federal Parliament elections;
(c) The continuous registration of voters and revision of the voter’s roll;
(d) The registration of candidates for elections;
(e) The delimitation of constituencies and wards;
(f) The regulation of the political party system;
(g) The settlement of electoral disputes;
(h) The facilitation of the observation, monitoring and evaluation of elections;
(i) The regulation of money spent by an elected candidate or party in respect of any election;
(j) The development of an electoral code of conduct for its candidates and parties;
(k) The monitoring of compliance with legislation on nomination of candidates by parties; and
(l) Voter education.
(3) The Federal Parliament shall establish the National Independent Electoral Commission and the relevant legislation required to support it as a matter of priority. (Art. 111G)
