- EnglishAll Powers, Authorities, and Functions which under any Act of the Parliament of Great Britain, or of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, or of the Legislature of Upper Canada, Lower Canada, Canada, Nova Scotia, or New Brunswick, are at the Union vested in or exerciseable by the respective Governors or Lieutenant Governors of those Provinces, with the Advice, or with the Advice and Consent, of the respective Executive Councils thereof, or in conjunction with those Councils, or with any Number of Members thereof, or by those Governors or Lieutenant Governors individually, shall, as far as the same continue in existence and capable of being exercised after the Union in relation to the Government of Canada, be vested in and exerciseable by the Governor General, with the Advice or with the Advice and Consent of or in conjunction with the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada, or any Members thereof, or by the Governor General individually, as the Case requires, subject nevertheless (except with respect to such as exist under Acts of the Parliament of Great Britain or of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland) to be abolished or altered by the Parliament of Canada. 1. Presidential elections shall be conducted in two stages.
2. Political parties which have obtained seats in the State Great Khural shall nominate individually or collectively one single candidate each for Presidency.
3. At the primary stage of the elections citizens eligible for election shall participate in electing the President on the basis of universal, free and direct suffrage by secret ballot.
4. The State Great Khural shall consider the candidate who has obtained a majority of all votes cast in the first voting as elected the President and shall pass a law recognizing his/her powers.

- English1. A person qualifies to be nominated as a candidate for election as President if that person—
a. is a citizen by birth or descent;
b. has been ordinarily resident in Zambia;
c. is at least thirty-five years old;
d. is a registered voter;
e. has obtained, as a minimum academic qualification, a grade twelve certificate or its equivalent;
f. is fluent in the official language;
g. has paid that person’s taxes or has made arrangements, satisfactory to the appropriate tax authority, for the payment of the taxes;
h. declares that person’s assets and liabilities, as prescribed;
i. pays the prescribed election fee on, or before, the date fixed for the delivery of nomination papers; and
j. is supported by at least one hundred registered voters from each Province.

- English(1) A person is qualified to be nominated for election as President if, and is not so qualified unless, he is a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago of the age of thirty-five years or upwards who at the date of his nomination has been ordinarily resident in Trinidad and Tobago for ten years immediately preceding his nomination.
(2) For the purposes of subsection (1) a person shall be deemed to reside in Trinidad and Tobago if he holds an office in the service of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago and lives outside Trinidad and Tobago because he is required to do so for the proper discharge of his functions.

- English(1) A person shall be qualified for election as President if, and shall not be qualified unless, he or she-
(a) is a citizen of Botswana by birth or descent;
(b) has attained the age of 30 years; and
(c) is qualified to be elected as a Member of the National Assembly.
(2) Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, for the purposes of this section and section 39-
(a) the term "citizen by birth" shall be understood to include only those persons who became citizens of Botswana prior to the amendment of the law relating to citizenship by the Citizenship Act;
(b) any person who, although his or her father was a citizen of Botswana at the time of that person's birth, had, by virtue of his or her having been born outside Botswana, to be registered as a citizen of Botswana, under the law relating to citizenship in force at that time, shall be regarded as a citizen by descent. (1) The Head of the Slovak Republic shall be the President. The President shall represent the Slovak Republic externally and internally, shall ensure the regular operation of Constitutional bodies by his or her decisions. The President shall perform the office according to his or her conscience and convictions, and shall not be bound by orders.
(2) Citizens of the Slovak Republic shall elect the President by secret ballot for a five-year term in direct elections. Citizens who have the right to vote for the National Council of the Slovak Republic shall have the right to vote for a President.
(3) Candidates for President shall be proposed by at least 15 Members of Parliament or by citizens who have the right to vote for the National Council of the Slovak Republic on the basis of a petition signed by at least 15,000 citizens. Proposals for elections shall be delivered to the President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic at the latest within 21 days of the announcement of elections.

(1) Hlavou Slovenskej republiky je prezident. Prezident reprezentuje Slovenskú republiku navonok i dovnútra a svojím rozhodovaním zabezpečuje riadny chod ústavných orgánov. Prezident vykonáva svoj úrad podľa svojho svedomia a presvedčenia a nie je viazaný príkazmi.
(2) Prezidenta volia občania Slovenskej republiky v priamych voľbách tajným hlasovaním na päť rokov. Právo voliť prezidenta majú občania, ktorí majú právo voliť do Národnej rady Slovenskej republiky.
(3) Kandidátov na prezidenta navrhuje najmenej 15 poslancov Národnej rady Slovenskej republiky alebo občania, ktorí majú právo voliť do Národnej rady Slovenskej republiky, a to na základe petície podpísanej najmenej 15 000 občanmi. Návrhy na voľbu sa odovzdávajú predsedovi Národnej rady Slovenskej republiky najneskôr do 21 dní od vyhlásenia volieb.
