The candidature for the office of President of the Republic is a right recognized to all Tunisians [masculine] or Tunisians [feminine], who are not holders of another nationality, born of a Tunisian father and mother, paternal and maternal grandfathers, all remaining of Tunisian nationality without discontinuity.
The candidate [masculine] or candidate [feminine] must be, on the day of the deposit of their candidature, at least forty years old and enjoy their civil and political rights.

La candidature au poste de Président de la République est un droit reconnu à tout tunisien ou tunisienne, qui n'est pas titulaire d'une autre nationalité, né(e) de père et de mère, de grands-pères paternel et maternel tunisiens, demeurés tous de nationalité tunisienne sans discontinuité.
Le candidat ou la candidate doit être, au jour du dépôt de sa candidature, âgé (e) de quarante ans au moins et jouir de ses droits civils et politiques.
