(a) two hundred and ninety members, each elected by the registered voters of single member constituencies;

- English1. The Senate will be composed of seventy senators who are elected for a mandate of five years by universal, direct and secret suffrage in general elections that are celebrated on one sole day and within the sixty days before or following the expiration of their mandate.
