(a) having been requested by the people of Papua New Guinea, through their Constituent Assembly, to become the Queen and Head of State of Papua New Guinea; and
(b) having graciously consented so to become, is the Queen and Head of State of Papua New Guinea.
(2) Subject to and in accordance with this Constitution, the privileges, powers, functions, duties and responsibilities of the Head of State may be had, exercised and performed through a Governor-General appointed in accordance with Division 3 (appointment, etc., of Governor-General) and, except where the contrary intention appears, reference in any law to the Head of State shall be read accordingly. - English(1) No person shall be eligible for election as President unless he—
(a) is a citizen of India,
(b) has completed the age of thirty-five years, and
(c) is qualified for election as a member of the House of the People.
(2) A person shall not be eligible for election as President if he holds any office of profit under the Government of India or the Government of any State or under any local or other authority subject to the control of any of the said Governments. 1. The King shall be deemed to have abdicated if he contracts a marriage without having obtained consent by Act of Parliament.
2. Anyone in line of succession to the Throne who contracts such a marriage shall be excluded from the hereditary succession, together with any children born of the marriage and their issue.
3. The two Houses of the States General (Parliament) shall meet to consider and decide upon a Bill for granting such consent in joint session. (Art. 28) - Dutch
1. De Koning, een huwelijk aangaande buiten bij de wet verleende toestemming, doet daardoor afstand van het koningschap.
2. Gaat iemand die het koningschap van de Koning kan beërven een zodanig huwelijk aan, dan is hij met de uit dit huwelijk geboren kinderen en hun nakomelingen van de erfopvolging uitgesloten.
3. De Staten-Generaal beraadslagen en besluiten ter zake van een voorstel van wet, strekkende tot het verlenen van toestemming, in verenigde vergadering. (Art. 28)

- EnglishThe executive power is vested in the King, or in the Queen if she has succeeded to the Crown pursuant to the provisions of Article 6 or Article 7 or Article 48 of this Constitution. When the executive power is thus vested in the Queen, she has all the rights and obligations which pursuant to this Constitution and the law of the land are possessed by the King. (Art. 3)
