- English1. The Malvatumauri Council of Chiefs has a general competence to discuss all matters relating relating to land, custom and tradition and may make recommendations for the preservation and promotion of ni-Vanuatu culture and languages.
2. The Council must be consulted on any question, particularly any question relating to land, tradition and custom, in connection with any bill before Parliament. Il peut faire des recommandations concernant la protection et la promotion de la culture et des langues vanuatuanes.

1. Citizens in the Kyrgyz Republic have the right to establish aksakal courts.
2. The aksakal courts shall, in accordance with their statutory powers, hear cases with a view to reconciling the parties and rendering just decisions that are not contrary to the law.
3. The decisions of the aksakal courts may be appealed against according to the procedure established by law.
4. The activities of the aksakal courts are financed from the local budget.
5. The procedure for the establishment of aksakal courts, their powers and activities shall be defined by law. (Art. 115) - Russian

2. Суды аксакалов в соответствии с предусмотренными законом полномочиями рассматривают дела с целью примирения сторон и вынесения справедливых решений, не противоречащих закону.

4. Деятельность судов аксакалов финансируется из местного бюджета.

- English1. The institution of chieftaincy and traditional institutions are guaranteed and shall exist in accordance with the culture, customs and traditions of the people to whom they apply.
2. Parliament shall not enact legislation which—
a. confers on a person or authority the right to recognise or withdraw the recognition of a chief; or
b. derogates from the honour and dignity of the institution of chieftaincy. (Art. 165)
