Citizenship and Nationality
- English1. Parliament may make provision for the acquisition of citizenship of Lesotho by persons who are not eligible or who are no longer eligible to become citizens of Lesotho under the provisions of this Chapter.
2. Parliament may make provision for depriving of his citizenship of Lesotho any person other than a person who became or becomes—
a. a citizen of Lesotho by virtue of having been born in Lesotho; or
b. a citizen of Lesotho by descent,
unless he would thereby become stateless.
3. Parliament may make provision for the renunciation by any person of his citizenship of Lesotho. (Sec. 42)

- English(1) Subject to the provisions of section 28 of this Constitution, a person to whom the provisions of this section apply may be registered as a citizen of Nigeria, if the President is satisfied that –
(a) he is a person of good character;
(b) he has shown a clear intention of his desire to be domiciled in Nigeria; and
(c) he has taken the Oath of Allegiance prescribed in the Seventh Schedule to this Constitution.
(2) the provisions of this section shall apply to –
(a) any woman who is or has been married to a citizen of Nigeria; or
(b) every person of full age and capacity born outside Nigeria any of whose grandparents is a citizen of Nigeria. (Sec. 26)

a. The children of a father or a mother who was born in Mozambique;
b. Children whose parents are stateless or of unknown nationality;
c. Those who were domiciled in Mozambique at the time of independence and did not choose any other nationality, expressly or tacitly.
2. The children of a Mozambican father or mother working for the Mozambican State outside the country shall be Mozambicans, even if born abroad.
3. The children of a Mozambican father or mother shall be Mozambican, even if born abroad, provided that they have expressly declared, either on their own behalf, if over eighteen years of age, or through their legal representatives, if younger, that they wish to be Mozambican. São moçambicanos os filhos de pai ou mãe de nacionalidade moçambicana ainda que nascidos em território estrangeiro, desde que expressamente, sendo maiores de dezoito anos de idade, ou pelos seus representantes legais, se forem menores daquela idade, declararem que pretendem ser moçambicanos. - English(1) A person may acquire citizenship by registration where that person satisfies the Board on the conditions set out in subsection (2), (3) or (4).(2) The conditions for registration of a person are that the person-(a) has been ordinarily and lawfully resident in Eswatini,(i) for a continuous period of at least twelve months immediately preceding the date of application for registration; and(ii) for periods amounting in the aggregate to not less than five years during the seven years preceding the date of application for registration.(b) is of good character;(c) has an adequate knowledge of siSwati or English;(d) intends, in the event of citizenship being granted, to reside in Eswatini;(e) has adequate means for support whilst in Eswatini; and(f) has contributed and shall contribute to the development of the country.(3) A person who is ordinarily resident in Eswatini and has been so resident for a period of at least ten years and whose application is supported by a Chief after consultation with bandlancane or supported by three reputable citizens, may be registered as a citizen.(4) Citizenship by registration shall not be granted to any person under this section until that person has taken the oath or affirmation of allegiance in the Second Schedule or such other oath or affirmation as may be prescribed.(5) The person to whom citizenship is granted in terms of this section shall be a citizen from the date on which a certificate of registration as a citizen is granted.(6) In this section, “bandlancane” means a Chief’s council established in accordance with Eswatini law and custom.
