This principle applies absolutely and generally to all articles of the Constitution as well as to all other laws and regulations, and the fuqaha' of the Guardian Council shall determine this matter. - English(a) This Constitution guarantees to all persons, in a manner that is not contrary to any tenet of Islam, the rights and freedoms contained within this Chapter9 subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by a law enacted by the People’s Majlis in a manner that is not contrary to this Constitution. Any such law enacted by the People’s Majlis can limit the rights and freedoms to any extent only if demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.
(b) The limitation of a right or freedom specified in this Chapter by a law enacted by the People’s Majlis as provided for in this Constitution, and in order to protect and maintain the tenets of Islam, shall not be contrary to article (a).
(c) In deciding whether a right or freedom in this Chapter, has been limited in accordance with article (a) and (b), a court must be fully cognisant of and make reference to all the facts, including:

6. the extent to which the right or freedom must be limited in order to protect the tenets of Islam, where the right or freedom has been limited pursuant to article (b).
… (Art. 16) - Dhivehi(ހ) މި ބާބުގައި ބަޔާންކޮށްފައިވާ އެންމެހައި ޙައްޤުތަކާއި މިނިވަންކަން އިސްލާމްދީނުގެ އަސްލަކާ ހިލާފި ނުވާނޭ ގޮތުގެމަތީން ކޮންމެ މީހަކަށްމެ ލިބިގެންވާކަން މި ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީ ކަށަވަރުކޮށްދެއެވެ. އަދި މިއިން އެއްވެސް ޙައްޤެއްގެ ނުވަތަ މިނިވަންކަމެއްގެ އެއްވެސް މިންވަރެއް ހިފެހެއްޓޭނީ މި ޤާނުނު އަސާސީއާ ތަޢާރުޟުނުވާ ގޮތެއްގެ މަތީން، ރައްޔިތުންގެ މަޖިލީހުން ފާސްކުރާ ޤާނޫނަކުންނެވެ. ރައްޔިތުންގެ މަޖިލީހުން ފާސްކުރާ ޤާނޫނަކުން ވެސް އެއިން ޙައްޤެއްގެ ނުވަތަ މިނިވަންކަމެއްގެ އެއްވެސްމިންވަރެއް ހިފެހެއްޓޭނީ، މިނިވަން، ދީމިޤްރާތީ މުޖުތަމަޢެއްގައި މިފަދަ ޙައްޤެއް ނުވަތަ މިނިވަންކަމެއް ހިފެހެއްޓިދާނެކަމަށް ޤަބޫލުކުރެވޭ މިންވަރަކަށެވެ.
(ށ) އިސްލާމްދީނުގެ އަސްލުތައް ރައްކާތެރިކޮށް ދެމެހެއްޓުމަށްޓަކައި، މި ބާބުގައި ބަޔާންކޮށްފައިވާ ހައްޤެއް ނުވަތަ މިނިވަންކަމެއް މި ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީގައި ބަޔާންކޮށްފައިވާ ގޮތުގެމަތީން، ރައްޔިތުންގެ މަޖިލީހުން ފާސްކުރާ ޤާނޫނަކުން ހިފެހެއްޓުމަކަށް މި މާއްދާގެ (ހ) ހުރަހެއް ނާޅައެވެ.

- English1. The Tribunals of Religious Communities shall be composed in conformity with the provisions of laws issued pertaining thereto. In such laws the jurisdictions of said Tribunals shall be defined as regards matters of personal status and (Waqfs) constituted for the benefit of the community concerned. However, matters of personal status of such community shall be the matters of personal status of Muslims within the jurisdiction of the Sharia Courts.
2. The Tribunals of Religious Communities shall apply the procedures and provisions related to the matters of personal status which are not considered matters of personal status of Muslims within the jurisdiction of the Sharia Courts; provided that the legislations of such Tribunals shall organize the conditions of the appointment of their judges and the procedures of trials before them. (Art. 109) - Arabic1. تتألف مجالس الطوائف الدينية وفاقاً لأحكام القوانين التي تصدر خاصة بها وتحدد في هذه القوانين إختصاصات المجالس المذكورة بشأن مسائل الأحوال الشخصية والأوقاف المنشأة لمصلحة الطائفة ذات العلاقة. أما مسائل الأحوال الشخصية لهذه الطائفة فهي مسائل الأحوال الشخصية للمسلمين الداخلة في إختصاص المحاكم الشرعية.
2. تطبّق مجالس الطوائف الدينية الأصول والأحكام المتعلقة بمسائل الأحوال الشخصية التي لا تعتبر من مسائل الأحوال الشخصية للمسلمين الداخلة في اختصاص المحاكم الشرعية، على أن تنظّم تشريعات هذه المجالس شروط تعيين قضاتها وأصول المحاكمات أمامها. (المادّة 109)

- English(1) Steps shall be taken to enable the Muslims of Pakistan, individually and collectively, to order their lives in accordance with the fundamental principles and basic concepts of Islam and to provide facilities whereby they may be enabled to understand the meaning of life according to the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
(2) The State shall endeavour, as respects the Muslims of Pakistan,--
(a) to make the teaching of the Holy Quran and Islamiat compulsory, to encourage and facilitate the learning of Arabic language and to secure correct and exact printing and publishing of the Holy Quran;
(b) to promote unity and the observance of the Islamic moral standards; and
(c) to secure the proper organisation of Zakat, ushr, auqaf and mosques. (٢) پاکستان کے مسلمانوں کے بارے میں مملکت مندرجہ ذیل کے لیے کوشش کرے گی--
(الف) قرآن پاک اور اسلامیات کی تعلیم کو لازمی قرار دینا ، عربی زبان سیکھنے کی حوصلہ افزائی کرنا اور اس کےلئے سہولت بہم پہنچانا اور قرآن پاک کی صحیح اور من و عن طباعت اور اشاعت کا اہتمام کرنا؛
(ب) اتحاد اور اسلامی اخلاقی معیاروں کی پابندی کو فروغ دینا؛ اور
(ج) ز کوۃ ،عشر ، اوقاف اور مساجد کی باقاعدہ تنظیم کا اہتمام کرنا۔ (آرٹیکل ۳۱)
