- English(1) Unless otherwise provided by a law, a German within the meaning of this Basic Law is a person who possesses German citizenship or who has been admitted to the territory of the German Reich within the boundaries of 31 December 1937 as a refugee or expellee of German ethnic origin or as the spouse or descendant of such person.
(2) Former German citizens who between 30 January 1933 and 8 May 1945 were deprived of their citizenship on political, racial or religious grounds, and their descendants, shall on application have their citizenship restored. They shall be deemed never to have been deprived of their citizenship if they have established their domicile in Germany after 8 May 1945 and have not expressed a contrary intention. (Art. 116) - German(1) Deutscher im Sinne dieses Grundgesetzes ist vorbehaltlich anderweitiger gesetzlicher Regelung, wer die deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit besitzt oder als Flüchtling oder Vertriebener deutscher Volkszugehörigkeit oder als dessen Ehegatte oder Abkömmling in dem Gebiete des Deutschen Reiches nach dem Stande vom 31. - English1 The Confederation shall regulate the acquisition and deprivation of citizenship by birth, marriage or adoption. It shall also regulate the deprivation of Swiss citizenship on other grounds, together with the reinstatement of citizenship.
2 It shall legislate on the minimum requirements for the naturalisation of foreign nationals by the Cantons and grant naturalisation permits.
3 It shall enact simplified regulations on the naturalisation of:
a. third generation immigrants;
b. stateless children. (Art. 38) - French1 La Confédération règle l’acquisition et la perte de la nationalité et des droits de cité par filiation, par mariage ou par adoption. Elle règle également la perte de la nationalité suisse pour d’autres motifs ainsi que la réintégration dans cette dernière.
2 Elle édicte des dispositions minimales sur la naturalisation des étrangers par les cantons et octroie l’autorisation de naturalisation.
3 Elle facilite la naturalisation:
a. des étrangers de la troisième génération;
b. des enfants apatrides. (Art. 38) - German1 Der Bund regelt Erwerb und Verlust der Bürgerrechte durch Abstammung, Heirat und Adoption. Er regelt zudem den Verlust des Schweizer Bürgerrechts aus anderen Gründen sowie die Wiedereinbürgerung.
2 Er erlässt Mindestvorschriften über die Einbürgerung von Ausländerinnen und Ausländern durch die Kantone und erteilt die Einbürgerungsbewilligung.
3 Er erleichtert die Einbürgerung von:
a. Personen der dritten Ausländergeneration;
b. staatenlosen Kindern. (Art. 38) - Italian1 La Confederazione disciplina l’acquisizione e la perdita della cittadinanza per origine, matrimonio e adozione. Disciplina inoltre la perdita della cittadinanza svizzera per altri motivi e la reintegrazione nella medesima.
2 La Confederazione emana prescrizioni minime sulla naturalizzazione degli stranieri da parte dei Cantoni e rilascia il relativo permesso.
3 Essa agevola la naturalizzazione:
a. degli stranieri della terza generazione;
b. dei fanciulli apolidi. (Art. 38)

(1) In this section a reference to a person’s “ citizenship status ” is a reference to his status as—
(a) a British citizen,
(b) a British overseas territories citizen,
(c) a British Overseas citizen,
(d) a British National (Overseas),
(e) a British protected person, or
(f) a British subject.
(2)The Secretary of State may by order deprive a person of a citizenship status if the Secretary of State is satisfied that deprivation is conducive to the public good.

(4) The Secretary of State may not make an order under subsection (2) if he is satisfied that the order would make a person stateless.
(4A) But that does not prevent the Secretary of State from making an order under subsection (2) to deprive a person of a citizenship status if—
(a) the citizenship status results from the person's naturalisation,
(b) the Secretary of State is satisfied that the deprivation is conducive to the public good because the person, while having that citizenship status, has conducted him or herself in a manner which is seriously prejudicial to the vital interests of the United Kingdom, any of the Islands, or any British overseas territory, and
(c) the Secretary of State has reasonable grounds for believing that the person is able, under the law of a country or territory outside the United Kingdom, to become a national of such a country or territory.

2. The acquisition or retention of a nationality other than Andorran shall entail the loss of the latter, subject to the terms and periods established by law. (Art. 7) - Catalan1.
