- English(1) There shall be a President of the Republic of Sri Lanka, who is the Head of the State, the Head of the Executive and of the Government and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
(2) The President of the Republic shall be elected by the People and shall hold office for a term of five years. (Art. 30) - Sinhala(1) ශ්රී ලංකා ජනරජයේ ජනාධිපතිවරයෙක් වන්නේ ය, ජනාධිපතිවරයා රජයේ ප්රධානයා ද විධායකයේ ප්රධානයා ද ආණ්ඩුවේ ප්රධානයා ද සන්නද්ධ සේවාවන්හි සේනාධිනායකවරයා ද වන්නේ ය.

The President of the Republic shall be a citizen of the Republic of North Macedonia. A person may be elected President of the Republic if over the age of at least 40 on the day of election.
