- EnglishThe international treaties celebrated by El Salvador with other States or with international organs, constitute laws of the Republic once they enter into force, in accordance with the provisions of the same treaty and of this Constitution.
The law cannot modify or derogate that agreed to in a treaty in force for El Salvador. In case of conflict between the treaty and the law, the treaty will prevail. 2. Constitutional and legal principles relating to fundamental rights have to be interpreted in harmony with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
