- EnglishSubject to the provisions of section 62 of this Constitution, a person shall be qualified to be elected as a Member of the National Assembly if, and shall not be qualified to be so elected unless-
(a) he or she is a citizen of Botswana;
(b) he or she has attained the age of 18 years;

3. A candidate for an elective office under this Constitution shall:
a. Be a Bhutanese citizen;

c. Be a minimum of twenty-five years and maximum of sixty-five years of age at the time of filing the nomination;

The representatives on the National Assembly of People's Power and the delegates on the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power are elected through a vote of the electors that is free, equal, direct, and secret. The law regulates the procedure for their election.
