Bulgaria
- English(1) A Bulgarian citizen is anyone, at least one of whose parents is a Bulgarian citizen, or who has been born on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, should he not be entitled to any other citizenship by virtue of origin. Bulgarian citizenship shall further be acquirable through naturalization.
(2) A citizen of Bulgarian origin shall acquire Bulgarian citizenship through a facilitated procedure.
(3) No one shall be deprived of Bulgarian citizenship acquired by birth.

Switzerland
- English1 The Confederation shall regulate the acquisition and deprivation of citizenship by birth, marriage or adoption. It shall also regulate the deprivation of Swiss citizenship on other grounds, together with the reinstatement of citizenship.
2 It shall legislate on the minimum requirements for the naturalisation of foreign nationals by the Cantons and grant naturalisation permits.
3 It shall enact simplified regulations on the naturalisation of:
a. third generation immigrants;
b. stateless children. (Art. 38) - French1 La Confédération règle l’acquisition et la perte de la nationalité et des droits de cité par filiation, par mariage ou par adoption. Elle règle également la perte de la nationalité suisse pour d’autres motifs ainsi que la réintégration dans cette dernière.
2 Elle édicte des dispositions minimales sur la naturalisation des étrangers par les cantons et octroie l’autorisation de naturalisation.
3 Elle facilite la naturalisation:
a. des étrangers de la troisième génération;
b. des enfants apatrides. (Art. 38) - German1 Der Bund regelt Erwerb und Verlust der Bürgerrechte durch Abstammung, Heirat und Adoption. Er regelt zudem den Verlust des Schweizer Bürgerrechts aus anderen Gründen sowie die Wiedereinbürgerung.
2 Er erlässt Mindestvorschriften über die Einbürgerung von Ausländerinnen und Ausländern durch die Kantone und erteilt die Einbürgerungsbewilligung.
3 Er erleichtert die Einbürgerung von:
a. Personen der dritten Ausländergeneration;
b. staatenlosen Kindern. (Art. 38) - Italian1 La Confederazione disciplina l’acquisizione e la perdita della cittadinanza per origine, matrimonio e adozione. Disciplina inoltre la perdita della cittadinanza svizzera per altri motivi e la reintegrazione nella medesima.
2 La Confederazione emana prescrizioni minime sulla naturalizzazione degli stranieri da parte dei Cantoni e rilascia il relativo permesso.
3 Essa agevola la naturalizzazione:
a. degli stranieri della terza generazione;
b. dei fanciulli apolidi. (Art. 38)

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
- English(1) A person born in the United Kingdom after commencement or in a qualifying territory on or after the appointed day, shall be a British citizen if at the time of the birth his father or mother is—
(a) a British citizen; or
(b) settled in the United Kingdom or that territory.
(1A) A person born in the United Kingdom or a qualifying territory on or after the relevant day shall be a British citizen if at the time of the birth his father or mother is a member of the armed forces.
(2) A new-born infant who, after commencement, is found abandoned in the United Kingdom, or on or after the appointed day is found abandoned in a qualifying territory, shall, unless the contrary is shown, be deemed for the purposes of subsection (1)—
(a) to have been born in the United Kingdom after commencement or in that territory on or after the appointed day; and
(b) to have been born to a parent who at the time of the birth was a British citizen or settled in the United Kingdom or that territory.
(3) A person born in the United Kingdom after commencement who is not a British citizen by virtue of subsection (1), (1A) or (2) shall be entitled to be registered as a British citizen if, while he is a minor—
(a) his father or mother becomes a British citizen or becomes settled in the United Kingdom; and
(b) an application is made for his registration as a British citizen.
(3A) A person born in the United Kingdom on or after the relevant day who is not a British citizen by virtue of subsection (1), (1A) or (2) shall be entitled to be registered as a British citizen if, while he is a minor—
(a)his father or mother becomes a member of the armed forces; and
(b)an application is made for his registration as a British citizen.
