- English(1) Subject to Article 18, any married woman whose husband is a citizen is entitled, upon making application to the Federal Government, to be registered as a citizen if the marriage was subsisting and the husband a citizen at the beginning of October 1962, or if she satisfies the Federal Government—
(a) that she has resided in the Federation throughout the two years preceding the date of the application and intends to do so permanently; and
(b) that she is of good character.
(2) Subject to Article 18, the Federal Government may cause any person under the age of twenty-one years of whose parents one at least is (or was at death) a citizen to be registered as a citizen upon application made to the Federal Government by his parent or guardian.
(3) Subject to Article 18, a person under the age of twenty-one years who was born before the beginning of October 1962, and whose father is (or was at his death) a citizen and was also a citizen at the beginning of that month (if then alive), is entitled upon application made to the Federal Government by his parent or guardian, to be registered as a citizen if the Federal Government is satisfied that he is ordinarily resident in the Federation and is of good character.
(4) For the purposes of Clause (1) residence before Malaysia Day in the territories comprised in the States of Sabah and Sarawak shall be treated as residence in the Federation.
(5) The reference in Clause (1) to a married woman is a reference to a woman whose marriage has been registered in accordance with any written law in force in the Federation, including any such law in force before Merdeka Day, or with any written law in force before Malaysia Day in the territories comprised in the States of Sabah and Sarawak:
Provided that this Clause shall not apply where the woman applies to be registered as a citizen before the beginning of September 1965, or such later date as may be fixed by order of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, and is at the date of the application ordinarily resident in the States of Sabah and Sarawak. (Art. 15) - Malay(1) Tertakluk kepada Perkara 18, apabila permohonan dibuat kepada Kerajaan Persekutuan oleh mana-mana perempuan bersuami yang suaminya seorang warganegara, maka perempuan itu berhak didaftarkan sebagai warganegara jika perkahwinan itu masih wujud dan suaminya itu seorang warganegara pada permulaan bulan Oktober 1962, atau jika dia memuaskan hati Kerajaan Persekutuan—
(a) bahawa dia telah bermastautin di Persekutuan sepanjang tempoh dua tahun sebelum tarikh permohonan itu dan berniat hendak berbuat demikian secara tetap; dan
(b) bahawa dia berkelakuan baik.
(2) Tertakluk kepada Perkara 18, apabila permohonan dibuat kepada Kerajaan Persekutuan oleh ibu atau bapa atau penjaga mana-mana orang yang di bawah umur dua puluh satu tahun, maka Kerajaan Persekutuan boleh menyebabkan orang itu didaftarkan sebagai warganegara jika sekurang-kurangnya salah seorang daripada ibu bapanya sekarang (atau pada masa kematiannya) seorang warganegara.
(3) Tertakluk kepada Perkara 18, apabila permohonan dibuat kepada Kerajaan Persekutuan oleh ibu atau bapa atau penjaga seseorang yang di bawah umur dua puluh satu tahun, maka orang itu berhak didaftarkan sebagai warganegara jika dia dilahirkan sebelum permulaan bulan Oktober 1962 dan bapanya sekarang (atau pada masa kematiannya) seorang warganegara dan juga seorang warganegara pada permulaan bulan itu (jika hidup pada masa itu), dan jika Kerajaan Persekutuan berpuas hati bahawa orang itu biasanya bermastautin di Persekutuan dan berkelakuan baik.
(4) Bagi maksud Fasal (1), kemastautinan sebelum Hari Malaysia di wilayah-wilayah yang termasuk di dalam Negeri Sabah dan Sarawak hendaklah dikira sebagai kemastautinan di Persekutuan.
(5) Sebutan dalam Fasal (1) mengenai perempuan bersuami ialah sebutan mengenai perempuan yang perkahwinannya telah didaftarkan mengikut mana-mana undang-undang bertulis yang berkuat kuasa di Persekutuan, termasuklah mana-mana undang-undang sedemikian yang berkuat kuasa sebelum Hari Merdeka, atau mengikut mana-mana undang-undang bertulis yang berkuat kuasa sebelum Hari Malaysia di wilayah-wilayah yang termasuk di dalam Negeri Sabah dan Sarawak:
Dengan syarat bahawa Fasal ini tidaklah terpakai jika perempuan itu memohon supaya didaftarkan sebagai warganegara sebelum permulaan bulan September 1965, atau apa-apa tarikh kemudiannya sebagaimana yang ditetapkan melalui perintah oleh Yang di-Pertuan Agong, dan jika pada tarikh permohonan itu dia biasanya bermastautin di Negeri Sabah dan Sarawak. (1) The persons who have obtained the citizenship of Nepal at the time of commencement of this Constitution and who are qualified to obtain citizenship in accordance with this Part shall be the citizens of Nepal.
(2) The following person who has his or her permanent domicile in Nepal at the time of commencement of this Constitution shall be the citizen of Nepal by descent:-
(a) A person who has obtained the citizenship of Nepal by descent prior to the commencement of this Constitution;
(b) A person whose father or mother was a citizen of Nepal at the time of his or her birth.
(3) A child of a citizen having obtained the citizenship of Nepal by virtue of birth prior to the commencement of this Constitution shall, upon attaining the age of majority, acquire the citizenship of Nepal by descent in case the child's father and mother both are citizens of Nepal.
(4) Every minor who is found within Nepal and the whereabouts of whose father and mother are not known shall, until the father or the mother of the child is traced, be a citizen of Nepal by descent.
(5) A person who is born in Nepal to a woman who is a citizen of Nepal and has resided in Nepal and whose father is not traced shall be provided with the citizenship of Nepal by descent.
Provided that in case his or her father is held to be a foreign citizen, the citizenship of such person shall be converted into naturalized citizenship as provided for in the federal law.
(6) A foreign woman who has a matrimonial relationship with a citizen of Nepal may, in case she so desires, acquire the naturalized citizenship of Nepal as provided for in the federal law.
(7) Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in this Article, in the case of a person born to a woman who is a citizen of Nepal and married to a foreign citizen, the person may acquire the naturalized citizenship of Nepal in accordance with the federal law in case he or she has permanently resided in Nepal and has not acquired the citizenship of a foreign country.
Provided that in case such person's mother and father both are citizens of Nepal at the time of acquisition of citizenship, such person born in Nepal may acquire the citizenship of Nepal by descent.
(8) In the cases other than those referred to in this Article, the Government of Nepal may, in accordance with the federal law, grant the naturalized citizenship of Nepal.
(9) The Government of Nepal may, in accordance with the federal law, grant the honorary citizenship of Nepal.
(10) Whenever any territory is acquired by way of incorporation into Nepal, a person having his or her domicile within such territory shall, subject to the federal law, become a citizen of Nepal. (Art. 11) - Nepali
(१) यो संविधान प्रारम्भ हुँदाका बखत नेपालको नागरिकता प्राप्त गरेका र यस भाग बमोजिम नागरिकता प्राप्त गर्न योग्य व्यक्तिहरू नेपालको नागरिक हुनेछन् ।
(२) यो संविधान प्रारम्भ हुँदाका बखत नेपालमा स्थायी बसोवास भएको देहायको व्यक्ति वंशजको आधारमा नेपालको नागरिक ठहर्नेछः–
(क) यो संविधान प्रारम्भ हुनुभन्दा अघि वंशजको आधारमा नेपालको नागरिकता प्राप्त गरेको व्यक्ति ।
(ख) कुनै व्यक्तिको जन्म हुँदाका बखत निजको बाबु वा आमा नेपालको नागरिक रहेछ भने त्यस्तो व्यक्ति ।
(३) यो संविधान प्रारम्भ हुनुभन्दा अघि जन्मको आधारमा नेपालको नागरिकता प्राप्त गरेको नागरिकको सन्तानले बाबु र आमा दुवै नेपालको नागरिक रहेछन् भने निज बालिग भएपछि वंशजको आधारमा नेपालको नागरिकता प्राप्त गर्नेछ ।
(४) नेपालभित्र फेला परेको पितृत्व र मातृत्वको ठेगान नभएको प्रत्येक नाबालक निजको बाबु वा आमा फेला नपरेसम्म वंशजको आधारमा नेपालको नागरिक ठहर्नेछ ।
(५) नेपालको नागरिक आमाबाट नेपालमा जन्म भई नेपालमा नै बसोबास गरेको र बाबुको पहिचान हुन नसकेको व्यक्तिलाई वंशजको आधारमा नेपालको नागरिकता प्रदान गरिनेछ । तर बाबु विदेशी नागरिक भएको ठहरेमा त्यस्तो व्यक्तिको नागरिकता संघीय कानून बमोजिम अंगीकृत नागरिकतामा परिणत हुनेछ ।
(६) नेपाली नागरिकसँग वैवाहिक सम्बन्ध कायम गरेकी विदेशी महिलाले चाहेमा संघीय कानून बमोजिम नेपालको अंगीकृत नागरिकता लिनसक्नेछ ।
(७) यस धारामा अन्यत्र जुनसुकै कुरा लेखिएको भए तापनि विदेशी नागरिकसँग विवाह गरेकी नेपाली महिला नागरिकबाट जन्मिएको व्यक्तिको हकमा निज नेपालमा नै स्थायी बसोबास गरेको र निजले विदेशी मुलुकका नागरिकता प्राप्त गरेको रहेनछ भने निजले संघीय कानून बमोजिम नेपालको अंगीकृत नागरिकता प्राप्त गर्न सक्नेछ । तर नागरिकता प्राप्त गर्दाका बखत निजका आमा र बाबु दुवै नेपाली नागरिक रहेछन् भने नेपालमा जन्मेको त्यस्तो व्यक्तिले वंशजको आधारमा नेपालको नागरिकता प्राप्त गर्न सक्नेछ ।
(८) यस धारामा लेखिएदेखि बाहेक नेपाल सरकारले संघीय कानून बमोजिम नेपालको अंगीकृत नागरिकता प्रदान गर्न सक्नेछ ।
(९) नेपाल सरकारले संघीय कानून बमोजिम नेपालको सम्मानार्थ नागरिकता प्रदान गर्न सक्नेछ ।
(१०) नेपालभित्र गाभिने गरी कुनै क्षेत्र प्राप्त भएमा त्यस्तो क्षेत्रभित्र बसोबास भएको व्यक्ति संघीय कानूनको अधीनमा रही नेपालको नागरिक हुनेछ । (धारा ११)

- English(a) The following persons are citizens of the Maldives:
1. citizens of the Maldives at the commencement of this Constitution;
2. children born to a citizen of the Maldives; and
3. foreigners who, in accordance with the law, become citizens of the Maldives.
(b) No citizen of the Maldives may be deprived of citizenship.
(c) Any person who wishes to relinquish his citizenship may do so in accordance with law.

(ރ) މި މާއްދާގެ (ހ) ގައި އެހެން އޮތްނަމަވެސް މުސްލިމަކަށް މެނުވީ ދިވެހިރައްޔިތަކަށް ނުވެވޭނެއެވެ (ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީގެ 9 ވަނަ މާއްދާ).

- English(1) Where a person has been deprived of his citizenship or his enrolment as a citizen has been cancelled under the provisions of this Part, the Government may, by order, deprive of his citizenship or, as the case may be, cancel the enrolment of any child of that person under the age of 21 years who has been registered or enrolled as a citizen under the provisions of this Constitution or the Singapore Citizenship Ordinance 1957 (Ord. 35 of 1957) and was so registered or enrolled as being the child of that person or of that person’s wife or husband.
(2) No person shall be deprived of his citizenship under clause (1) unless the Government is satisfied that it is not conducive to the public good that he should continue to be a citizen; and no person shall be deprived of his citizenship under clause (1) if the Government is satisfied that as a result of such deprivation he would not be a citizen of any country. (Art. 137)

- English(1) The Federal Government may by order deprive of his citizenship any person who is a citizen by registration under Article 16A or 17 or a citizen by naturalization if satisfied—
(a) that he has shown himself by act or speech to be disloyal or disaffected towards the Federation;
(b) that he has, during any war in which the Federation is or was engaged, unlawfully traded or communicated with an enemy or been engaged in or associated with any business which to his knowledge was carried on in such manner as to assist an enemy in that war; or
(c) that he has, within the period of five years beginning with the date of the registration or the grant of the certificate, been sentenced in any country to imprisonment for a term of not less than twelve months or to a fine of not less than five thousand ringgit or the equivalent in the currency of that country, and has not received a free pardon in respect of the offence for which he was so sentenced.

(a) bahawa orang itu telah menunjukkan dirinya melalui perbuatan atau percakapan sebagai tidak taat atau tidak setia kepada Persekutuan;
(b) bahawa orang itu, dalam masa apa-apa peperangan yang dalamnya Persekutuan sedang atau telah terlibat, telah dengan menyalahi undang-undang berdagang dengan atau menghubungi musuh atau melibatkan diri atau menjadi sekutu dalam apa-apa perniagaan yang pada pengetahuannya telah dijalankan mengikut apa-apa cara sehingga dapat membantu musuh dalam peperangan itu; atau
(c) bahawa orang itu, dalam tempoh lima tahun mulai dari tarikh pendaftaran atau dari tarikh perakuan diberikan, telah dihukum dengan pemenjaraan di mana-mana negara selama tempoh tidak kurang daripada dua belas bulan atau denda tidak kurang daripada lima ribu ringgit atau yang senilai dengannya dalam mata wang negara itu, dan telah tidak mendapat pengampunan bebas berkenaan dengan kesalahan yang kerananya dia telah dihukum sedemikian.

1. A person, both of whose parents are citizens of Bhutan, shall be a natural born citizen of Bhutan.
2. A person, domiciled in Bhutan on or before the Thirty-First of December Nineteen Hundred and Fifty Eight and whose name is registered in the official record of the Government of Bhutan shall be a citizen of Bhutan by registration.
3. A person who applies for citizenship by naturalization shall:
a. Have lawfully resided in Bhutan for at least fifteen years;
b. Not have any record of imprisonment for criminal offences within the country or outside;
c. Be able to speak and write Dzongkha;
d. Have a good knowledge of the culture, customs, traditions and history of Bhutan;
e. Have no record of having spoken or acted against the Tsawa-sum;
f. Renounce the citizenship, if any, of a foreign State on being conferred Bhutanese citizenship; and
g. Take a solemn Oath of Allegiance to the Constitution as may be prescribed.
4. The grant of citizenship by naturalization shall take effect by a Royal Kasho of the Druk Gyalpo.
5. If any citizen of Bhutan acquires the citizenship of a foreign State, his or her citizenship of Bhutan shall be terminated.
6. Subject to the provisions of this Article and the Citizenship Acts, Parliament shall, by law, regulate all other matters relating to citizenship. (Art. 6) - Dzongkha

- English(1) Citizens shall consist of indigenous Indonesian peoples and persons of foreign origin who have been legalised as citizens in accordance with law.
(2) Residents shall consist of Indonesian citizens and foreign nationals living in Indonesia.

- English1. The following provisions shall have effect until a law of citizenship is made incorporating such provisions—
a. any matter relating to citizenship shall be governed by the provisions of Annex D to the Treaty of Establishment;
b. any person born in Cyprus, on or after the date of the coming into operation of this Constitution, shall become on the date of his birth a citizen of the Republic if on that date his father has become a citizen of the Republic or would but for his death have become such a citizen under the provisions of Annex D to the Treaty of Establishment.
2. For the purposes of this Article "Treaty of Establishment" means the Treaty concerning the Establishment of the Republic of Cyprus between the Republic, the Kingdom of Greece, the Republic of Turkey and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Εν τω παρόντι άρθρω «συνθήκη εγκαθιδρύσεως» σημαίνει την συνθήκην μεταξύ της Δημοκρατίας της Κύπρου, του Βασιλείου της Ελλάδος, της Δημοκρατίας της Τουρκίας και του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου της Μεγάλης Βρεταννίας και Βορείου Ιρλανδίας, την αναφερομένην εις την εγκαθίδρυσιν της Δημοκρατίας της Κύπρου. (Αρθρον 198) - Turkish1. Aşağıdaki hükümler, bu hükümleri içine alan bir vatandaşlık kanunu yapılıncaya kadar, yürürlükte olur:-
a. vatandaşlığa dair herhangi bir konu, Kuruluş Anlaşmasının ‘D’ Ekinin hükümlerine tabi olur;
b. bu Anayasanın yürürlüğe girdiği tarihte veya ondan sonra Kıbrıs’ta doğan herhangi bir şahıs, doğumu tarihinde babası Cumhuriyetin bir vatandaşı ise veya ölmemiş olsa idi Kuruluş Anlaşmasının ‘D’ Eki hükümleri gereğince Cumhuriyetin bir vatandaşı olacak idi ise, doğumu tarihinde Cumhuriyetin bir vatandaşı olur.
2. Bu Madde çerçevesinde "Kuruluş Anlaşması ", Cumhuriyet ile Yunanistan Krallığı, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti ve Büyük Britanya ve Kuzey İrlanda Birleşik Krallığı arasındaki Kıbrıs Cumhuriyetinin Kuruluşuna dair Anlaşmayı ifade eder. (Madde 198)
