(1) Subject to the provisions of this article -
(a) no law shall make any provision that is discriminatory either of itself or in its effect; and
(b) no person shall be treated in a discriminatory manner by any person acting by virtue of any written law or in the performance of the functions of any public office or any public authority.
(2) In this article the expression ‘discriminatory’ means affording different treatment to different persons attributable wholly or mainly to their or their parents’ or guardians’ respective descriptions by race, place of origin, political opinion, colour, creed, age, disability, marital status, sex, gender, language, birth, social class, pregnancy, religion, conscience, belief or culture whereby persons of one such description are subjected to disabilities or restrictions to which other persons of the same or another such description are not made subject or are accorded privileges or advantages which are not afforded to persons of another such description.

(4) Nothing contained in any law shall be held to be inconsistent with or in contravention of paragraph (1)(a) to the extent that it makes provision with respect to standards or qualifications (not being standards or qualifications specifically relating to a person’s or his or her parents’ or guardians’ respective description by race, place of origin, political opinions, colour, creed, age, disability, marital status, sex, gender, language, birth, social class, pregnancy, religion, conscience, belief or culture) to be required of any person who is appointed to any office in the public service, any office in a disciplined force, or any office in the service or of a local democratic organ or of a body corporate established by any law for public purposes.

Palestinians shall have the right to participate in political life, both individually and in groups. They shall have the following rights in particular:

4. To hold public office and positions, in accordance with the principle of equal opportunities.

All citizens have the right of access, within conditions of equality and of freedom, to the public functions and to the elective mandates, within the conditions established by the law. (Art. 33)

Citizens have the right to participate in equality of conditions in public affairs and in state management.
In the formulation, execution, evaluation, control and monitoring [seguimiento] of the public and social policies, as well as the public services, the participation of the person, the family and the community will be guaranteed, the Law will guarantee their effective participation, nationally and locally. (Art. 50)

In Tajikistan public life shall be developed on the basis of political and ideological diversity. … (Art. 8)

(1) Women have the right to equal treatment with men and that right shall include equal opportunities in political, economic and social activities.

The social objectives of the State shall aim at:

b. Guaranteeing the participation of the community in the political life among other ways through national, regional and sectoral participation;

The state shall guarantee equal opportunities for all citizens in the fields of political, economic, social and cultural activities and shall enact the necessary laws for the realization thereof. (Art. 24)

Men and women are equal before the law in all aspects of political, economic, social and cultural life. (Art. 25)

(1) There shall be equality of opportunity for all citizens in respect of employment or office in the service of the Republic.
(2) No citizen shall, on grounds only of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth, be ineligible for, or discriminated against in respect of, any employment or office in the service of the Republic.
(3) Nothing in this article shall prevent the State from;
(a) making special provision in favour of any backward section of citizens for the purpose of securing their adequate representation in the service of the Republic;

(c) reserving for members of one sex any class of employment or office on the ground that it is considered by its nature to be unsuited to members of the opposite sex. (Art. 29)
