- English1. The Prime Minister shall be appointed by the President of the Republic, following hearings with the political parties represented in the National Assembly and taking into consideration the election results.
2. The Ministers and Secretaries of State shall be appointed by the President of the Republic on the proposal of the Prime Minister.
3. Only a citizen of São Tomé origin, the child of a São Toméan father or mother, who does not hold any other nationality, may be appointed Prime Minister. (Art. 110) - Portuguese1. (1) The President of the Republic of Moldova designates a candidate for the office of Prime-Minister following consultations with parliamentary fractions.
(2) The candidate for the office of Prime-Minister shall request, within 15 days following the designation, the vote of confidence of the Parliament over the programme of activity and the entire list of the members of the Government.
(3) The programme of activity and the list of the members of Government are subject to parliamentary debates in session. It shall grant confidence to the Government with the vote of majority of the elected members of Parliament.
(4) On the basis of the vote of confidence granted by the Parliament, the President of the Republic of Moldova shall appoint the Government.

(1) După consultarea fracţiunilor parlamentare, Preşedintele Republicii Moldova desemnează un candidat pentru funcţia de Prim-ministru.
(2) Candidatul pentru funcţia de Prim-ministru va cere, în termen de 15 zile de la desemnare, votul de încredere al Parlamentului asupra programului de activitate şi a întregii liste a Guvernului.
(3) Programul de activitate şi lista Guvernului se dezbat în şedinţa Parlamentului. Acesta acordă încredere Guvernului cu votul majorităţii deputaţilor aleşi.

- English(1) There shall be such offices of Minister of the Government (not exceeding six or such other number as Parliament may from time to time provide) as may be established by Parliament or, subject to the provisions of any Act of Parliament, by the President.
(2) There shall be such offices of Assistant Minister (not exceeding three or such number as Parliament may from time to time provide) as may be established by Parliament or, subject to the provisions of any Act of Parliament, by the President.
(3) Appointments to the office of Minister or Assistant Minister shall be made by the President from among Members of the National Assembly: Provided that-
(i) not more than four persons may be appointed as Minister or Assistant Minister from amongst persons who are not Members of the Assembly but are qualified for election as such; and
(ii) if occasion arises for making an appointment to the office of a Minister or an Assistant Minister while Parliament is dissolved a person who was a Member of the Assembly before the dissolution may be appointed as a Minister or an Assistant Minister. (Sec. 42)
