- English1. The Malvatumauri Council of Chiefs has a general competence to discuss all matters relating relating to land, custom and tradition and may make recommendations for the preservation and promotion of ni-Vanuatu culture and languages.
2. The Council must be consulted on any question, particularly any question relating to land, tradition and custom, in connection with any bill before Parliament. (Art. 30) - French1) Le Conseil des Chefs Malvatumauri est compétent dans tous les domaines relatifs à la terre, coutume et à la tradition. Il peut faire des recommandations concernant la protection et la promotion de la culture et des langues vanuatuanes.
2) Le Conseil doit être consulté, sur toute question se rapportant à un projet de législation du Parlement, et en particulier celles relatives à la terre, tradition et à la coutume. (Art. 30)

1 No person may cover their face in public spaces or in places that are accessible to the public or where services are offered to anyone wishing to partake of them; the ban does not apply to places of worship.
2 No person may force another person to cover their face on the grounds of their sex.
3 The law shall provide for exceptions. These may only be justified on the grounds of health, safety, weather conditions or local custom. (Art. 10a) - French
1 Nul ne peut se dissimuler le visage dans l’espace public, ni dans les lieux accessibles au public ou dans lesquels sont fournies des prestations ordinairement accessibles par tout un chacun; l’interdiction n’est pas applicable dans les lieux de culte.

- EnglishThe customary authority is recognized.
It is devolved conforming to local custom, provided that it is not contrary to the Constitution, to the law, to public order and to good morals.
Each customary chief [who] desires to exercise a public elective mandate must submit himself to election, except in application of the provisions of Article 197, paragraph 3 of this Constitution.
The customary authority has the duty to promote national unity and cohesion.
A law establishes the status of the customary chiefs. (Art. 207) - FrenchL’autorité coutumière est reconnue.
Elle est dévolue conformément à la coutume locale, pour autant que celle-ci ne soit pas contraire à la Constitution, à la loi, à l’ordre public et aux bonnes moeurs.
Tout Chef coutumier désireux d’exercer un mandat public électif doit se soumettre à l’élection, sauf application des dispositions de l’article 197 alinéa 3 de la présente Constitution.
L’autorité coutumière a le devoir de promouvoir l’unité et la cohésion nationales.
